Button Bay/ Lake Champlain

I read the other posts on salmon fishing areas on LC (near the northern end) & as I'm planning on going up to the Button Bay area of Lake C. I was wondering if anyone who has fished that area, would be generous enough to let me know of a couple of hot spots in the Button Bay area for Salmon? (It's always nice to have some place to start, rather than wandering around totally aimlessly.)
From some of the other posts, I get the imporssion that larger size lures are kinda the norm for LC???

Thanks,
This site IS awesome!

All the Best,

Gary

Re: Button Bay/ Lake Champlain

I've fished this area a bit. Best area I've found is along the NY side. Head over to Barber Point (SW out of Button), set up there and head south staying close to the NY side. The water stays better than 80 feet deep for about four miles south of the point. Two weeks ago I did well using DB smelts (NH Guide, silver/green stripe, white pearl), Fishlander spoons (Wonderbread, Monica, watermelon) and taped up Suttons 61's 38 wide green diagonal on back and two 18 wide orange diagonal strips on the front. Trolling speed between 2.8 and 3.2 (GPS) 35 to 50 feet down. The locals run channel 68 on the radio, you may be able to get some info there.
