Newfound Question

Hey, have any of you folks fishing Newfound watched the kids on the north end of the ledges? Just around the corner there are a bunch of "float things?" in the water. One looks like a glacier... You know what I mean if you've been there.

Anyways... that long one (yellow and red) looks wicked fun! Becky and I enjoyed watching the kids on that one. For those who haven't seen it... its a long float maybe 25' long, 5' wide and a few feet thick? It goes straight out into the lake with one end attached to shore. At the shore end is a big tower... maybe 10-12' high? One kid will crawl out to the very end of the float... another climbs the tower. The kid on the end just sits there while the one on the tower jumps down onto the other end. Some of these kids (on the deep end) were flying like 10' into the air before splashing down into the water. Imagine how high they'd have gone if I threw my fat butt off the tower???
That was the coolest water toy I've ever seen. We laughed every time one of those darn kids went tumbling through the air.
I assume thats some sort of childrens camp? There had to be 50 kids running around out there... and swimming... and kayaking.
When I went to summer camp we played UNO, hide and seek, and had watermelon seed spitting contests. Where were these toys 20-25 years ago?

Anyways, if you haven't seen them using that float... you really need to swing by while you're out there. It is good for a laugh. Just be forewarned it might make you jealous.

Good luck on the water everyone.

Re: Newfound Question

Yea, they were having fun Saturday to. Felt like jumping in and joining them.
When you going down again?

Re: Re: Newfound Question

I was gonna head up this morning, but woke up in BIG pain. My shoulders got scorched yesterday and I'm paying for it today. Been putting the aloe to the burn this morning and its looking better/feeling better already. May try this afternoon/evening? We'll see how bad this heat gets.

Re: Re: Re: Newfound Question

Oh yeah... another question. What's up with that launch ramp dock? I don't remember it being that high last time I was there? Pretty unusual to have to rappel down into the boat... The lake didn't look that low? Was it? Maybe the dock was that high before and I just don't remember?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Newfound Question

The only time you don't have to rappel is in the spring when the lake is up.
