Wow is fishing turned on 2 weeks ago was going to be my last trip out but was invited out twice more this past week.Single hook flies are producing at least 3 to 1 over hardware.Early morning red, white, copper combo along with purple, red pink, black purple, orange any of those colors are hot. When the sun comes up yellow, orange combo and orange white. The white perch pattern does well all day... Now I'm hooked going out to Squam later in this coming week,I want a 5 lb salmon I hear there are up there. And out to Winni a couple more times..Never thought I'd be this excited about fishing.
Good for you Bethany, If this is the same Bethany from A.J.'s You certainly deserve it working as hard as you do at the store and offering up all kinds of good quality information that helps us anglers out Good For You and have fun on Squam Hopefully you'll get one like the Monster that i missed up their. Take Care God Bless and Tight Lines LOL Dave From up North
Bethany... we had similar luck with the white perch fly. Seems to work all day.
Haven't had a chance to get back up for my fly order. I'll swing by tomorrow and see if you're open. I haven't forgotten.
You may not want to go to Squam... The fish in winni don't seem so powerful and big after you hook one of those giants up there. Haha
Good luck up there... I hear they are biting well.
Hey slipknot any tips for Squam?? Or do I need to rent the Sampson barge? John feel free to offer any tips as well.Ilucas I'm on a mission I want the trophy fish. Plus I have a little side bet with a dear friend.Come on guys help this dumb ----- out..
No secrets to speak of... the same stuff you use on winni works there. Keep having faith in the flies though... sounds like they are what catches the real lunkers in that lake. Only thing I can say is have lots of patience waiting for the big one. I've been a couple times when we only caught a couple fish... but they were big. As long as you're with good friends time will pass quickly though. Sure is a beautiful lake. Make sure you keep an eye out for the eagles. The pair that was there this spring was huge.
I'm sure John could tell you better where to fish and what people have been catching them on this week.
Good luck.
I'm headed out fishing now... see ya.
