Re: Nada, Nothing, Zilch, Skunked, 2 Fishlessmen and 1 Fishlesswoman or Fishlessman's Lakes LOL

saterday was pretty good, a couple about 3.5 and a few smaller salmon. sunday was dead, 2 small salmon and a half dozen tripped releases. even the 2 small fish on sunday were hardly hooked, pick the salmon up with the net, hook immmediatly fell out, turn net over for a quick release. most fish we caught were in deep water just north of the camels pasture, not many marked on the screen, but the screen had a very light peppering of smelt there, no real schooling of smelt. i do remember waving to someone with binocs, were we near shore at the time, if so it was just north of the northwest river where the shoal drops off to about 90 feet deep from 10 feet. its been a good spot, with big fish this last part of the season, but not this weekend. sometimes its real hard to find salmon on this lake, sometimes it can get crazy, one day to the next

Finding them is one thing, getting them to bite is quite another. We saw lots of fish this weekend, many in places they normally are not until this time of year, but no bites to speak of, especially Sunday.

I still see a huge one (7+) in your future, hit those favorite hot spots this time of year, the ones produce big fish and stay on it, that's my plan.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Nada, Nothing, Zilch, Skunked, 2 Fishlessmen and 1 Fishlesswoman or Fishlessman's La

the camels pasture is north of the peice of land that extends from the west side of the lake toward the south side of frye island. if you have the large laminated map that is sold in the area its marked and if you tip that map counter clock wise, you can make out the whole camel on land (about 3-4 miles from the head to the back of the camels hump), the pasture is behind the camel. the laminated map is accurate, the paper ones ive seen are very misleading with regards to depth. if you want to catch lakers, the big shoal (sunken island) due east from the north west river is covered with 5-6 pounders, easily caught by handlining leadcore dragging large suttons in the sand..8 to 1.1 mph. there are also some real big ones out there, but i havent caught one yet, made it a point to only catch salmon this year and at the speed of 2.2, they just dont hit often in sebago, and its rare to catch a salmon going any slower than that in this lake
