A few days ago there were a lot of posts on kicker motors.I am putting a kicker on now also. Can anyone tell me who makes Controll King and where I can get one? I have another question for you pros. I was trolling for bows today. 2+ colors,2.4 to 2.7 mph,I was useing tandem flies. Course it was overcast and cool today. My question is, I had 8-10 hits, 2 or 3 bent the pole right around hard. By the time I picked up the rods they were gone! I have fished this same situation quite a lot (maybe not that fast) and have'nt missed all those good hits. The lake was pretty smooth today. Got any answers for me. Thanks!

Welcome to the site.You can get a controll king from Cabela's.My take on the missed strikes are your speed might be a factor for that day.I have had days that they want very slow moving bait and some days that they want it fast.If you find your missing fish try slowing down or speed up The fish will tell you what they want.Make sure your hooks are as sharp as you can get them.you seem to have the right type of fly on with that many hits.So keep at it you will get them and have fun.Just my two cents.

Click on links on the left bar and scroll down to the control king and call them directly. Cabelas takes up to 3-weeks to even get the product. This is what I ran into this early spring when I started doing some research. excellent unit to add to a kicker.

Charlie is the price in the same range as cabela's? I never looked at the links sites thanks I'm going to get one this winter for my 9.9 Merc.4 stroke.Are they easy to install?Thanks in advance.

Yes very simple to install. I do not remeber the price difference. If you call directly they will send the product to you than you pay for it. BIGTIME trust factor here but a good outfit to deal with.

I just ordered one for my 9.9 4st Merc. direct from controllking. It was $198. and change. I did not price out Cabelas becuz of the lead time. And I want you guys to know I do know what links are, but this is the first time I have been on this site directly. I always went through AJ's site to get here and there were not any links on message board through his site.
I always wondered how you guys got to show boats etc.

I will let you know how it goes on. If you buy it direct from ConTrollKing and you ask, they will send you installation pictures.
As far as the pictures on the message board, I do not have any idea how to put pictures on anything, but a lot of these other guys can help I am sure!

if you want your boat or other pictures put up on the website you need to send them to A.J. whoose email can be found at the bottom left where it says Need Answers? Thanks for the help Erbyjoe. I thought I may have been too fast also,which is why I need the kicker motor. I threw a trolling basket over which slowed me to 1.3 to 1.5. When I brought it up to the speed I wanted, There was too much waves and racket for just a couple colors out. My favorite dark day fly on that lake is a tandem, beaded pink ghost.

I don't know about the controll king but the hits sound like they're striking short or maybe the swivel if your using one. I was once pulling a dave davis and the salmon were hitting the small blades at the end and ignoring my lure. On other times I have seen them hitting the swivel. Best of luck :)
