Re: Boat Launch Fees

It would be nice to have a new state launch like on Winnisquam, but in the meantime you still have some FREE options. Check out this link... http://www.bizer.com/w2launch.htm
Also, until Memorial Day, you will find that a few other ramps are FREE as well.
With the closure of Ames Farm as a public launch, perhaps F&G is getting more calls about a state ramp in that area? Lets hope so. I try to send at least one e-mail every season asking for one.
I wonder how big a parking lot would need to be to hold the vehicles/trailers that would flock to the new ramp, though?? Waaay more boats on Winnipesaukee than the other lakes.

Re: Boat Launch Fees

I wouldn't be so fast to say it's the Marinas?????? I talked with the owner of shep browns the other day when I asked to park one of our trucks and 2 trailers there for the derby. we also launched there and yes I had to pay 20$ It is not him (the owner) that charges the $20 it's the town, he even has to keep a separate receipt book just for the launching fees for the town. He told me flat out he wished he could have let me launch for free but he has no choice. And as nice as this guy was to talk to I beleive him 100% Take Care God Bless LOL Dave Who probably wont get any sleep tonight wishing I was down there earlier tomorrow LOL

Re: Boat Launch Fees

Its true it is the towns collecting the money

We paid 20 bucks last week end at shep browns ,if you live in the town of Meredith they give you a sticker so you dont have to pay

Re: Boat Launch Fees

The State of NH collects $6.00 EVERY year, from EVERY boat, registered in NH to pay for launches!! Where does all that money go??? Winnesquam got a public launch, as did Newfound. What about Winni???? The 2 public launches that are on the big lake, one at Alton & one at Meredith Bay are both pretty pathetic. The State owns land at Ellecoya. Do what they did at Newfound. Build a decent launch facility on land they already own!!!

But, Noooooo!

All the Best,

Gary

Re: Boat Launch Fees

I think they must _iss it away on legal battles.Property owners on most lakes don't want anymore boat traffic on THEIR lake.Yes we are lucky to have access to Winnisquam but they could have put it in a more accessible location, like the Ahern S.P.More money wasted on purchasing land, when they already owned waterfront land.
