I took a quick look at that software, I think it would be awesome for some people.
To sum it up to me it would be the electronic version of sitting at your table at home with a contour map of a water body and marking spots and routes to travel. Then taking that marked map on your boat and following your preplanned routes.
In this case it would be on a chip to import or load so to me you could get really detailed as to where you wanted to try and the path you wanted to take at your leisure and in the comforts of home.
You would have to make sure your gps/plotter was in there list though.
