Re: Recommendations Pleas: Best $ vs. Features for a NON Lowrance GPS/Sonar
I just bought a Hummingbird 597ci combo with internal GPS. During my search I looked at the 757ci, 300 series, Eagle and garmin. For the price (purchased from Cabelas)Ifelt that the 597ci was the best bang for the buck. Ith has great resolution and easy to use interface. It dose have a cardslot for nap updates etc. I have not had it long but am ery hsppy so far.I epoxie the transducer in hull and it maitains depth reading as fast as 50mph. The gps speed is great for trolling.
Hope this helps

hey Eric,
I also have a c80 raymarine and love it but my friend just bought a Raymarine A50d. Great unit for 850.00 Hodges Marine. He got it unloaded and bought the chip seperate.

northstar over the raymarine hands down, it is so easy to use my 5yr old can run it in his sleep. raymarine is also in severe financial trouble so watch out they might be gone before you know it!!
