Re: Squam Lake

I don't know if these fishermen are bass or salmon fishermen, but Larry Fortier and Doug Dennis were at the right place at the right time and saved that student/fisherman's life.

Re: Squam Lake

This is from the WMUR TV website

HOLDERNESS, N.H. --
A 22-year-old Plymouth State University student nearly drowned Thursday morning, after falling off his 10-foot-long fishing boat into Squam Lake in Piper Cove.

Holderness Fire Chief Eleanor Mardin said a “guardian angel” was looking out for Joshua Michaud, of Barrington, who plunged into the 45-degree water around 7 a.m.

The plastic seat inside Michaud’s small fishing boat, which might normally have been attached to the hull with screws, was loose. Mardin said that when Michaud turned around to adjust something behind him, he lost his balance and fell into the water.

Across the lake, two other fishermen, Larry Fortier and Doug Dennison heard Michaud’s screaming. They said they weren't sure what they heard, but they also saw a splash and decided to check it out.
