Re: 2012 Seahawks

Who are the 2012 seahawks? Are they an intramural dodgeball team?

Re: 2012 Seahawks

I believe they are an underwater basket weaving team, but I could be confusing them for the painting team in Tewksbury.

How do the other 2012 teams feel when theres 4 2011 kids on Seahawks?

Re: 2012 Seahawks

All kids on the 2012 Seahawks were approved by MASS hockey, the league and USA Hockey. Nothing was being hidden which is why they are ALL listed on the roster (or game roster). The 2011’s on the team weren’t the game changer in a 10-0 win.

Re: 2012 Seahawks

Of the 10 goals scored 5 of the 10 and and 3 assists so 2011 involved in 8 of the 10 goals game sheet can be posted if you would like to see it!!! I agree no impact on the outcome of the game!!!!

Re: 2012 Seahawks

So you would have still lost by 2 goals!

Re: 2012 Seahawks

Who is talking about wins and losses? There is a big difference 10-0 and 2-0 for players mentally as they know the difference. Having 2011’s play in a 2012 game and the Seahawks not informing their opponents that 2011 players are playing is absolutely wrong! Clearly it is all about winning with the 2012 Seahawks and the Seahawks Program, not development because bringing 2011 down and not 2013 up is totally against the league rules. If there were no 2013 to play up for the year then the 2012 team should have moved up to the 2011 age level and they should have fielded TWO 2011 teams. The real issue is that 2011’s are playing in a 2012 age bracket and because of this they are dominating all of there games in the American Division. Here are the stats after 4 games played 4-0-0 with a plus 24!!!! In some cases the possibility of an early 2011 to a late 2012 can be almost two years difference and at this age that is huge as kids start to develop and hit puberty 11 to 13 maturity wise, height, weight and strength is noticeable and in this situation the 2011’s on the 2012 Seahawk team are very big kids that dominate!

If the league did agree to let the Seahawks have 2011 players play on a 2012 team which I find that very hard to believe then they are opening themselves up for a ton of issue moving forward, how do they stop all teams in the Minor Division’s from borrowing down instead of up!!!! Can’t wait to see how this all plays out! League Officials you are on the clock because league games will be played next weekend and if this is dealt with appropriately I see a lot of teams in the E9 and BHL borrowing down not up.

Re: 2012 Seahawks

In most other leagues 2011’s and 2012’s are Peewee. I understand the BHL doesn’t do it that way but the fact is USA Hockey classifies them both as 12U teams, which is what governs the BHL. You wouldn’t be complaining if your team didn’t lose, so, it is, in fact, about the win/loss to you. If the kids are on their USA Hockey approved rosters (as someone else stated) then, it seems the league was aware and likely approved. Just because you don’t like it, doesn’t mean it isn’t so.

Re: 2012 Seahawks

Seahawks are just pathetic cheaters. Imagine being one of these kids parents? What are you doing?

That said Mr. High Horse refs his own kids games which is also terrible and more youth hockey cheating. Grow up people.

Re: 2012 Seahawks

Technically Seahawks did nothing wrong with USA Hockey now if the league wants to do something about it they can but USA hockey this is 100% okay. If you play town hockey it’s 2011/2012 birth year.

The only team that is whining to the league is the knights but it’s mostly the guy who refs his own kids game. Also pretty pathetic he can’t drop it and keeps talking about it.

TB I promise you it’s not going to matter but you might also be the guy telling little guys high school coach he didn’t develop the right way because 4 games a year in pee wee they lost because the other team had a few 2011 on it.

Re: 2012 Seahawks

Matt DiVirgillo we all know its you making your comments about the knights. funny you make comments about me officiating my own kids game like its a bad thing. how about we talk about me being forced to ref it because there was no refs for the game, would you rather had the game cancelled? we have a ref shortage because of coaches like you. Or how about we talk about how you had kids who worked in the pro shop ref one of your games who aren't even patched officials. that is not illegal or anything, i still have the live barn maybe i should send that to USA hockey and you can explain to them that you had no choice but then you are going to try to slam me? haha a USA patched ref? who was just trying to help out. Or should we talk about how you say things to kids on the other teams as the skate by the ice? I have those live barns too picking up that distinct voice of yours. that's not a safe sport violation or anything. how about your own players on your team, how degrading you are to them slamming on the boards screaming at them. there is a way to coach and not coach and you are the poster coach for the way not to coach. oh and btw i don't hide behind anonymous or rangers parent like you. you want to say something to me say to my face. only reason you have not complained about the Seahawks either is because you haven't played them yet. yes I posted on FB about the Seahawks but never posted a thing on here and you try to attack me on here for no reason. grow up and get a life.

Re: 2012 Seahawks

Are you talking about the terrible ref from the Raynham Sportsplex?

Re: 2012 Seahawks

His name is James Benting, he shouldn’t be allowed to ref kids ever. He’s a disgrace to all refs around for youth hockey who put in real time and effort. He likes to ref games when his own son is playing… sounds logical. Swearing at kids acting tough on the ice towards 10 year olds. One day he’ll say the wrong thing to the wrong person because I’ve heard of multiple incidents with that guy. How is he a registered ref is beyond me, I’m embarrassed for him.

Re: 2012 Seahawks

He won’t be an official too much longer, he engages with the kids, spectators and coaches too much, he’s a want to be tough guy. There is a safesport investigation coming for this guy real soon because he swears at kids while he attempts to ref games. Barry you are correct, he is in fact a clown. Only a matter of time until he ****es the wrong person off, hopefully Mass hockey realizes that even with official shortages, guys like this are not good for our game.

Re: 2012 Seahawks

Thanks for your insight regarding U12 Hockey as USA Hockey has the age brackets listed. However the Elite leagues of hockey I Massachusetts doesn’t play combined years the leagues play year of birth hockey hence why the leagues are identified as the year of birth. These leagues are not Town Hocke teams hence why the 2012 identified teams are not listed as national bound level of play those teams are listed as U12, -14 it’s is not until midgets that the national bound teams get identified as straight year teams U15, U16 then U18 so back to the fact that I stated above that team should have moved up to the higher player identification age bracket not the lower so division play would be more fair throughout. As of right now they are now 5 - 0 and plus 31 how is that fair play and good for the kids? When you get your ass dominated by another team it is not not for player development it is actually the opposite, on top of that you think that you just not dominated by a team that is the same as you when in fact that is absolutely false. To your USA Hockey Rostering point those are submitted into USA Hockey and approved by USA Hockey so in this case you are absolutely correct regarding they is not USA violation. The issue is that SEAHAWKS roster is a U12 roster not a 2012 roster as every other team in the 2012 Divisions are and in the E9, BHL & the EHF they all play as year of birth teams. Also rosters don’t get sent into the E9/BHL League Office - they need to be available to the league when they are requested by the league as every association has a person that sends the rosters to USA Hockey they in return approve the roster and send it back to the association which then that person sends to link to the coach of the team so the team has it. Otho g gets sent to the league in regards to the league. Ow that this has been uncovered it is on the league as to how they are going to deal with the league rule violation. Again not once did anyone say they violated any USA HOCKEY RULES!!!!

Re: 2012 Seahawks

I’m sure the teams in the top American division are happy they can have a few competitive games instead of just blowing out the lower American division teams.

The second division is a glorified national just didn’t want to hurt the Lovell teams feelings again.

Re: 2012 Seahawks

Get your facts straight the top Division has 2 Lovell programs and your cheating team best one of them 9-2 because of the 2011 players accounting for the majority of there goals. The glorified National Division that was created for the Lovell programs 2 of them in there that you’re referring to aren’t the Seahawks in that Division? And for the record that is what parity is for though it not always be correct with the placing of teams the current Seahawk 2012 team did not have those 2011 playing because if they did they would have been placed in the upper American League not in the as you referred to as the Glorified National Divison

Settle down knights dad

The winter club team is the punching bag for that division.

Rangers
Giants
Vermont
Saints

They just needed to put another team into league for scheduling purposes.

Re: 2012 Seahawks

Watched the 2011 Seahawks play before the 2012 Seahawk Team and with out question the 2012 team that I saw play with the 3/4/5 2011 players in it would kick the crap out of the 2011 Seahawks in the National Division!!! So why aren’t there 2 2011 Seahawk Teams? Would the 2012’s benefit playing up if they are that good as someone identified that they were in the E9! If the 2012 team I saw play was in the E9 this year they would do better than the team that was in the E9 last year. Were the 2011’s on the E9 team that got smoked last year, just wondering. Any Seahawk parent out there please respond as I’m just inquiring and would like to know why if no 2011 players played last year in the top league.

The 2011 kids on the 2012 team
are local town kids. Nothing worth arguing about. The game in question had other 2011s from the main 2011 team playing and scoring a bunch.

Re: 2012 Seahawks

The 2011 player that played as an alternate in the game the Knights got smoked in only scored 2 goals in a 10-0 game! He’s 11 years old, so if the excuse is maturity and yata yata, that’s been thrown out there… it’s a mute point since the kid is the same age as early 2012 birth years. The other 2011’s played in parity with the 2012 team. This guys just throwing a fit because little Johnny just missed out on his NHL contract because of his 12U loss.

So getting 2 goals is no big deal ?

Re: 2012 Seahawks

Lol… not much in a 10-0 win. Should they change it to 8-0? A previous poster stated he scored a ton of goals… facts are he scored 2 of the 10 and they were the last 2 of the 10 scored in the 3rd period… so the knights were already well out of the game… And The fact is the other 2011’s have played with the 2012’s during and since parity. Never with the regular 2011 team.

This is not true. Another 2011 from main 2011 team played and scored 2, so now we are up to 4. Another D from the 2011 team played as well

Re: 2012 Seahawks

Again, One 2011 player (who played as an alternate that game) was from the 2011 team - this is the one that scored 2 goals. The others have ALWAYS played with the 2012 team NEVER the 2011’s.

There were no 2011s on the 2012 team last year. Lots of turnover, and they couldnt fill the roster, which is why they added sone 2011s to this years team

Re: 2012 Seahawks

Why no comments Seahawk Mom-Dad-Rep-Director about the comment that was responded to about USA Team Rostering and the approved rosters only going to your association and not the league, there is no way the league is aware of this or approved because if that was the case this would be happening in every association so the level of play would be compatible throughout. These leagues are not town programs they are club straight year of birth teams. Stronger players play up for example 2014 Advantage play in the 2013 E9 Division not the BHL and they have no 2013 players - why because it is a 2014 team even though they are I. A 2013 division. Never have players been allowed to play down in gear of birth programs so rosters can be filled in those cases the team gets moved up to the older age level. WHAT IS SO DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND AND WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO JUSTIFY WHAT THE SEAHAWKS ARE DOING? From the comments in this entire thread and now on the Mass Hockey Facebook Page the Seahawks are 100% wrong for doing what they did!!!! Unfair advantage in game play for all other teams Advantage Seahawks lol at the standings 5-0 plus 31

Re: 2012 Seahawks

It appears it was approved by the league. You are trying to make it seem as if it is this whole sneaky conspiracy, which isn’t the case.

Re: 2012 Seahawks

Been involved in the E9 BHL since the league was created and never ever has the league approved or agreed to let players play down, it has always been only up. How do I know this because we had a very similar situation where we were not going to able to find a team due to low numbers and they made our 6 players play up.

Re: 2012 Seahawks

TB I really hope you never get cut from the Knights because the entire state of MA hockey thinks you’re a complete bozo. The league doesn’t care about this I’m telling you this right now. They will keep the season going because they don’t want to change the schedule but they won’t be allowed to play in playoffs.

That could be a nightmare if teams are bringing down older kids from elite teams etc. . Also, No one cares if it’s “town kids” or “club kids” ,that means nothing aside from the fact that you’re saying that the town kids on the Seahawks are terrible because they are town kids and not club kids. Re: 2012 Seahawks

I'm guessing this isn't going to happen on a larger scare. Parents seem obsessed with little Johnny getting competition and how could little Johnny get competition if he plays down. Coaches and teams already basically cheat in tournaments by bringing in kids that aren't on their team during the season. Seems like this is being made a huge deal of and I'd say the Seahawks aren't doing well as an org if they're doing what they're doing.

Re: 2012 Seahawks

I don’t think this would happen on a large scale either, but teams could pull down older kids as alternates just to win games. Kids don’t care they like extra ice time. Even little Johnny. What teams/coaches have cheated? Just curious what you know?

Many teams bring kids not on their rostered team to tournaments. It's allowed so it's not cheating but seems like BS to me. I am not the only person that knows this.

Re: 2012 Seahawks

Metro (MBHL) had the option of being an "open" team at any age level. You could play other open teams or age-specific major teams.
So this Seahawks team would be able to play and 2011 team or any open team with 2011 and 2012.

What level is this in the BHL? If it's National, then I would bet this team would get thumped by the top squirt teams in valley league.

Why would it create chaos? It happens all over the place. It can be argued either way. Town kids does matter since they are not BHL elite players being pulled over or even Elite players within the same age bracket - which happens all the time. I just hope non of these kids are as soft as their parents because they won’t make it to high school hockey.

Looks like the 2012 Seahawks couldn’t find enough kids to field a team so instead of folding they add 2011 kids to the team. That is not cheating or anything. Wonder what the consequences are going to be from the league.
From what I read on the Facebook thread, it was the league that made this decision. The director stated they originally put them in the 2011 division as a mixed team but the league chose to move them to the 2012 division.

Re: 2012 Seahawks

Re: 2012 Seahawks

BHL doesn’t care, I’ve never heard of them enforcing their rules. Take your kids to the EHF, better competition and a much better run league.

I think the league would care and I challenge you to bring this up with the board of directors for your club. I would love for this to go in writing. Did the alternate sign the score sheet? There are rules for a reason people. Please go to the bbl rules here: https://www.bostonhockeyleague.com/pages/info/league-rules/ https://www.bostonhockeyleague.com/pages/info/league-rules/

I think not, considering all 3 of them still played. And I think is now a fact that they are not the “top tier” 2011 players beating up on 2012’s, that you have tried to portray them as. Congratulations on the win though, knights looked great today!
Top tier? In todays game , the other 2011s that played last time did not today. The regular 2011s on the team did

Re: 2012 Seahawks

Yes they did - with the exception of 1. Check the roster please.

To add - the only 2011 that was not there was an alternate last game. And scored just 2 of the 10 goals made. Ask James. He has all the stats and the kids social security numbers.

Your missing my point. Last game they also had others from the regular 2011 team. So a total of 5 2011s played

Re: 2012 Seahawks

Not missing the point - you are wrong. Three 2011’s TOTAL - played last game, 2 of the rostered and 1 of the 2011’s rostered who was replacing the missing kid. Today all 3 of the rostered played.

Both teams are mediocre. Go Knights

You are missing the point. Only 1 alternate played last game and he only scored 2 goals in the 10-0 win. Otherwise the roster is the same.

Read that again so it sinks in.

It did go to the league and the Knights were told that it was approved by the league. The league is the one who chose to put them in the 12 division not the Seahawks since the originally wanted to put them in the 2011 division AND The alternate DID sign the score sheet. There was only one alternate that played that game. So the Seahawks did nothing wrong and everything by the book. A lot of these details have been left out of the original posters rants.
