0 players from mass and 1 from the rest of New England. Bad year for mass hockey or bad development in general?
There are several good players from New England under 18 that should have been considered.
The fault is that when elephants fight, its the ground that suffers.
My son is in Prep school and should have been picked to play in the U18 Worlds, he better get drafted this year
PHL all star team would give this squad a good game
It's what happens when there is ZERO value put on defensive defensemen these days. USA Hockey would rather have that 4th and 5th forward on the ice that will chip in a few assists but turn the puck over like a loose slot machine. Defense, pfffft. That's not modern hockey.
MA has one player who is on the U18 team. JH from Sebs. He is out with an injury and is one of their better forwards. Still not enough MA guys. Although I herd 5 kids from MA have been invited to the NTDP camp from the 2005 Birth year and could have been one or two more kids but that is a lot of MA kids for USA Hockey to invite. USA Hockey does not like split season/prep model. The push the full season model. NTDP needs more MA & more east coast kids as they are tougher than than the mod west kids (other than MN)
Heck USA Hockey who stuck it to the MA kids took away automatic bids from MA Hockey because MA Hockey dropped the ball with no state tourney. With leadership like that at the top you can no see why the MA model is broken. It all starts at the top.
Time for a change in leadership at MA Hockey.
USA Hockey likes strong athletes with clear potential and doesn’t care what model kids play, full season, academies, split/prep ... They care primarily about kids that can play ...
05 team will have 4 from MA...just wait...'03 and '04 groups are weak in MA
JW and his Dad take a lot of heat on this board. Did JW have a Dad play in College or have three brothers play College Hockey? I have seen CE play and he is easily Top 06 in a pretty good birth year in Massachusetts. I wish him well.
