A good write up in NZ is crucial. pretty much guarantees a spot
Teach your kid how to fight. I'm telling you, it goes a long way, college coaches love it. There is a skill to it, timing in the game, etc..Coaches don't forget it.
New age mix of soviet style players like Kovalev, Makarov, Bure, Fedorov, Datsyuk mixed with North American players like LaFontaine, Kane, 99, Lemieux, Orr, Sid...
Don’t kid yourself, everyone knows it is the interview, D1 scouts definitely want to know how many goals your bender scored as a mite, did he play E9 or EHF, was he elite or tier 1, did he wear his full team warm up suit everyday to school, was his daddy the coach, and the one question that will definitely seal the D1 deal is if his mom was a star on the top 10 dboard gossip fodder
Has your kid ever been approached by Central Scouting? And what's the first thing they do? They go to the locker room, ask the kid to step outside and tell them to come out with bare feet...they measure the kid right there in his bare feet.

Skating and Compete- those are the standards, the rest are nice but skating and compete top the list.
