Sorry, not a troll. It was never something I cared about as I never thought my son had a chance of playing college. He has improved greatly in past year or two so now maybe he does. It seems like there are junior programs everywhere and I have seen his and older brothers teammates as well as kids I know who will never play in college wasting time chasing the dream. I see the arguments on here about this is better than that. How the hell am I supposed to know that. From what I have gathered the USHL is out west and thats where the top d1 prospects go. I know there are teams around here like the Islanders, Monarchs, Jr bruins... Even with them I see elite, premier... Trust me it is confusing to someone who wants to support his kid but does not live or die for hockey.
ok. I will find somewhere else to get the info. I do not see why you would think it so crazy that someone is not well versed in the path to college hockey and the relative merits of the various junior teams and levels. Maybe I should get an advisor.
Point taken. Sorry about that.
No one who has a senior prep school hockey player is this clueless. Troll job.
Agreed you can't possibly have no idea what the good junior leagues are if your kid is just about done with prep school
"My son is graduating form a pretty high end academic prep school this year..." So where have your college search led you thus far? Certainly he and his prep advisers have him applying to colleges already. If not:
Local JR Hockey is where local kids go for a year or two (8-10K per year) before going to Fitchburg State or working at the local skate shop.
