No, not the game itself. Everything else involved with the sport does, though.
My kid tested positive this morning. He hasn't been at any parties, big box stores, or restaurants in the past week. He isn't currently in school.
What he does do is spend 3 - 5 hours at the rink M - F, plus games, interacting with his teammates. The team locker room, especially, is the perfect environment for those dastardly droplets. Close proximity, no masks, no social distancing, poorly ventilated, probably poorly cleaned.
And. then you have the team workouts, with no one wiping the machines down between sets.
That's why we're seeing problems, especially at the junior ranks.
The safest pace to be in on the ice. Unfortunately, everything else involved increases the risk.
Take it seriously. We did, and it didn't matter. He'll be fine, but we're at risk, now too.
Totally agree! Hope your son recovers quickly and the rest of the family stays safe!
My son has been quarantined for 3 weeks due to 1 hockey exposure (negative) and now due to a friends exposure - waiting on test!
I really question why and how hockey is allowed to go on but then again I question the decisions (or lack of) that our gov't has made regarding this virus!
I'm like the Covid-19 survival rate, I'm right over 99% of the time...
Your kid just has a cold, he'll live, get over it. Also, I hope you enjoy paying for your kid to play club ice hockey because he sucks and isn't going anywhere.
Pay no attention - some people are born *******s! I hope you and your family continue to be safe and healthy! And BTW - HIS kid sucks!
