I has to be sarcasm. What kind of a hockey parent carries the kid's bag? Well I see those parents but they're usually carrying the kid's stick bag!

My kid would get a hernia if he carried his bag ... and the bags with the wheels take up way too much space in the locker rooms.

Believe me, your kid will be fine. These kids are spoiled enough with all the time and money we spend on them. Make him carry his own bag.

Hey *sshole..... ask you kids pedi doc next visit if it's good for your kids shoulder, back and hips to carry heavy bag of any sort hunched over. It has nothing to do with how old or big or tough your kid is.....
Such anger! How about if you ask your "pedi doc" (is that different from a mani pedi?) if he advises that you have your kid play a sport where concussions are likely?

And what exactly did the fifth dentist recommend to their patients that chew gum, if it wasn't sugarless gum?

I don't recall any youth player ever leaving the sport due to hernia or spinal damage. Gee, maybe you're worrying for no reason?

Those goofy wheel bags weigh too much and take up way too much space in locker rooms and vehicles. They are also expensive, poorly stitched and not durable. Canvass hockey bag is the way to go, it adds basically no weight to total, can be mashed down with no wasted space in bag. Also love parents who buy their bender the expensive wheelie bag but also buy the cheapest skates or helmet.

Kids bag with gear in it weighs around 30lbs.


If your kid's bag weighs 30 lbs and he is a skater, then you are either carrying a wheel bag, which weigh more than the gear in them, or you need to clean out all the half full water and gatorade bottles out of it. Bag with gear shouldn't weigh more than 20 lbs, which is less than the backpack they are carrying to school every day.
