Add about a grand.
Youre looking at around $3800 for tuition. Figure another $3500 for tournements, hotels, gas, food, etc. Don't forget skate sharpenings, tape, and a couple of cheap $100 sticks, summer skills. We're all into this for about $7500-$10K per year. Come and join the fun!
It's $3,000-$3,500. Even less for mites. Nobody is paying $3,800. But the poster is right about the other expenses. Figure on a couple grand for each travel tournament, which could be three or more. Club hockey drove the working class out of the sport. It's a rich boy's game now.
If money is a question this isn't the game for your kid.
3.5 for squirts getting gradually more after that. I think we paid 2500 at mite minor, The expenses for tournaments are for the top end teams that go to the Canadian tournaments. And of course all of the posters kids here are in that bracket.
Hello, people. The Kings make you give a deposit of $750 to $1000 at the second tryout for youth teams. You don't get it back if you make the Kings team but decide to go with another team. It's nonrefundable. You have to do the deposit in order to continue with tryouts. It's not on their website. They hand you a piece of paper at the second tryout. If you don't do the deposit, you have no chance to make the team. It's very illegal. It's their way of making sure you don't try out with other teams at the same time. If you call and ask about it, they will claim that they don't know what you are talking about. Beware, parents.
