You got it, a week max for foudation work, two weeks to enclose it and a few weeks to fill it and a couple for finish & paint. Most people see a big building and think it takes so long because, well it looks so big but really its not a such a big deal.
Owners pockets, ticket sales, maybe the league kicks in..
Owners pockets = Businessmen don't go into business to lose money.
Ticket Sales - How many people are going to choose to go to a Tier 2 Jr hockey game on avg 100, 200, 300?
League kick in - Why? What is the angle?
Perhaps there are 8-10 rural areas that can support a team like they do in the Mid West? I hope so. Would be a great option for the East Coast kids and bring down the cost of the Tier 3 leagues
Maybe it's a loss leader for the owners to participate in other leagues or ventures. Sponsorship, tickets (I agree it will be hard to fill the seats 30 nights a year). But 22 teams are doing it in the NAHL and another 17 in the USHL.

Yes, they are doing it in other parts of the country, Typically these are rural towns that are a few hours from a major city and do not have any pro or major college sports teams nearby.
