Yes, most are heading to the American division in BHL. Overall not a bad showing for the teams at all age levels for a first year program.

I guess if you consider that most teams will be in the American Division of the BHL in the first year. The 04 team had a legit shot at the E9 and played very well in parity. The 07 team has some good young skaters and gave some returning E9 teams a run, but in the end fell short. The 03, 05, 06 teams need some work and could easily be in the National Division of the BHL.

This is 100% true. Had a game schedules Saturday against BJR, which they forfeited die to lack of players.

They asked to be moved into National, nothing to do with any parity penalty

Have you seen this team ? They would have been a National team had that not gotten two wins by outside players, so it makes sense for everyone. The league the organization, the kids...

here is why. those teams are going to be bottom dwellers in the BHL national. better off playing for the Devils with that competition. The rink is new. that doesn't mean its the best. Plus who know how long it will be open with the lawsuits. Lovell skills have become a joke. Run by local D3 college kids who have no idea how to teach actual skills. Instead they just run them up and down the ice and play some cross ice games.

I think what they're trying to say is you're spending a lot of money and not going to see much in return playing for the Lovell's these days. They turned into terrible programs. But hey, you can get a Dunkin' Donuts when your son is doing the same drill over and over on skills night!

Not to doubt you, but who is even coaching next year? I don't see any updated coaching info and it is certain that some of last year's coaches won't return. Just wondering.

Hmm, they seemed to be raking it in this past weekend with 40+ teams in a tourney there, with the newly opened restaurant packed daily, and the construction continuing with the Frozen Yogurt place. Seem to be doing okay !

yes they need to rake it in because they are going to be paying through the nose once everything starts coming due. Expect the place to be sold within the next 18/24 months.

The rink didn't have 40 teams in a tournament, the Giants didn't have 40 teams in a tournament, it was a 3rd party purchaser that rented the ice. That would be like saying RB at Walpole is on top of the world because Chowder Cup rents his ice.

And who cares who is footing the bill for the ice rental if you can fill the place up with 40 teams, their parents and siblings for the weekend. Bar was making money, restaurant was making money, pro shop was making money, arcade was making money.

I don't see how having a rink full for the weekend is bad ? Would you like them to run the tourney and take away the 1500 bucks each team owner made, that wont happen.

I am not defending the place or affiliated with the place or programs, just stating what I saw being there over the weekend.

What birth year is your kid? If just starting Mites, you could be fine and let it develop as you go. If older, then you owe it to yourself to shop around. At the very least watch a practice or go to LIveBarn and watch games from last year to see how it looks.

In my experience any coach is more than willing to come have your kid skate at a practice with his team and give you honest feedback as to where your kid stands.

Make some calls or better yet show up and see what the team looks like in a couple of weeks when practice starts. While teams are essentially "formed" all of them have 3-4 spots typically for alternates or last minute additions.

What level (Tier 1 Elite? Lower?) did your son play last year?

If he is a top player, I suppose you'll have options.

Personally, I would check out any program (yes, even the Giants) that will consider you at this point since your options are going to be limited.

You mentioned other possible choices (Saints and Kings). I don't have an opinion about either program. Maybe others will be able to help you.

Why wouldn't you be excited ? Because your kids made the Giants ! That is why you shouldn't be excited, but if you are picking your team based on the newest arena, then I guess you would be excited.

I think the actual fact is your kid could not make any other team if they are playing at the Giants and they just happen to have a new arena.
