Re: taking a knee during penalty

It's supposed to read..."when another player is injured."

Re: taking a knee during penalty

Yes. The goalie needs to go and bake the injured kid a cupcake and give him a balloon.

Re: taking a knee during penalty

And the dad of the injured player gets to verbally assault the father of the kid delivering the hit. Except in Reading, where the dad should bash the other dad's head into the cement.

Re: taking a knee during penalty

does your kid play any other sport? Just about any soccer, lax, etc game I've gone to they take a knee when someone gets injured. This is respect, but not something the EHF worries about putting in their rule book.

Re: taking a knee during penalty

Really? Just skate to the bench and wait for the coach to come out, carry limp little johnny off the ice after 5min and then watch little johnny fire right out like Lazarus and never miss a shift...

Re: taking a knee during penalty

Anon
Is there a rule in the EHF in regards to players taking a knee when another player is insured or is it up to the discretion of the coach?

To answer the question, I'm not sure its a 'rule' to take a knee - but of course, it is the respectful thing to do.

Not that respect has anything to do with quite a few teams.

Re: taking a knee during penalty

Pretty sure it is not a rule. It is used in soccer so players keep their place on the field. Unless a kid is seriously injured I See no point in taking a knee. Sure it fine for mites but as things get more serious this is precious time for the opposing team to regroup. I have seen more kids milking a hit or fall than kids actually truly hurt.

Umm, that thread was like, a year ago. Why would you pull that forward if you had absolutely nothing of value to add? How did you even find it?

Re: taking a knee during penalty

Do you take a knee if your team is crosschecking from behind and 2 handing with the stick and a player on the other team gets hurt?
