This is a great little team lead by a guy who really knows hockey and how to coach kids. The coach's only goal for his players is development and it shows. The coach knows exactly who they are and where they rank compared to other teams. He doesn't think they are better than they are. They didn't choose to go independent they had no other choice. It's hard to be in an organization where your team is better than the rest and there is no place for you. I think their 07 team is 13-1 in MPHL so they are coming along also. All this team is trying to do is find good competitive games against other New England teams. They don't care what league or what ranking as long as they have a good game. They don't think they are top of EHF elite or E9. They would probably be in the middle of E9 and above the bottom teams of 2005 EHF elite. They don't want bragging rights or say much at all (looks like one rogue parent did, I think every team has that parent). All they are looking for is to play in a league that fits their level. Their coach entered them in a decent tournament last month in Rochester not because he thought they could win but to show his players that level of competition. They held their own in the tournament and did not get smacked like some fool mentioned earlier. They won a game, lost a game in OT and then lost the others by 4-5 goals. That is actually better than they thought they would do. If you had seen them play this past weekend in the EHF tournament you would have seen great goal tending who only let up 2 goals in 6 games. I think 9 out of 13 kids scored more than twice, I would call that deep and not a team that has only 3 good players. They have played 24 games this season and their record is 16-6-2. They won 2 out of 3 tournaments they entered. Their is no reason for these kids to move to EHF elite when they have a coach like they do. They just need a league to play in with competitive games. I think it would be great for other teams in Mass to have one more team to play against that would give them a decent fight. No need to bash a team that has no stake in the game. This board is just adults bashing little kids sports it is insane. I played hockey in college, have 2 older kids one played EHF Elite and one is in E9 so I know the system.
Two completely different 05 Hurricanes teams guys!! GET A CLUE!
The Indy team played in a decent tourney back in October and got smacked around pretty good. They also barely beat the Conqys NEPHL.
GET A CLUE HURRICANE DAD.
They'd be a middle of the road '05 EHF Tier 1 Black team at best, which is really good for a team of kids from Plymouth and Cape Cod. However, for the sake of keeping all the egos in check and the kids not thinking they are too great, it might have been better to split the team and have two balanced 05 teams for league play rather than what they did - and then still put them together as a tourney team throughout the season.
Have you reviewed the independent teams schedule? I mean really? Most of those kids would have a hard time competing at Peewee A level. Wow they beat an 04 select team. Get a clue!
They don't have egos they know exactly where they would fit in. No bragging and or chest pumping. They have played 24 games and much more competitive than last year.
It will all evaporate next season with the new owner when kids go play elsewhere !
or as soon as they realize that they can get 40 games for the same price against the same competition !
ummm they pay half as much as you do and they play 40 games! Already played 24 and its November. Next........
Really you checked it out...you are a liar! In the Rochester tournament they one a game and lost one in OT and then lost the rest!! Hmmm you are all phonies and liars and just make **** up!!!!
At the super series in Rochester the team had 1 win, 1 overtime loss and 3 losses against elite teams. In the last two years they have beaten elite teams of the junior rangers, junior bruins, Worcester Sharks, East-coast Wizards, Seacoast Spartans all of which were E9 at one point or another. They have never been beaten by an E9 team. Team is consistently ranked in the top 15 in the state and that's what they are no more no less. Every player comes from within 20 miles of the rink and do this without drawing from any major metropolitan area. If you want to compare that to minuteman flames go ahead but it's apples and oranges. Only a moron would expect the same level of play from such drastically different demographics.
WOW stupid is as stupid does. Wrong again, why don't you check before you write. You must be the same guy that said you checked and the team didn't win any games in Rochester. Yes, they were all the ELITE teams in each of those organizations...not the AAA. I am well aware of how to differentiate the two levels but thanks for the clarification. I can list the coaches if you need to check. Or better yet why don't you call the head coach of the 2005 hurricanes independent team for the scores and the coaches of each team. He would love to hear from you... better yet get your team to play them tough guy. This is fact..why is it so hard for you to believe. You obviously have never seen them play and have something against them...let me guess...your kid got cut??
No one said they were a powerhouse or would beat the top 15 teams or would be top of E9 or EHF just stating the facts. Decent team.
Funny ... ! Bragging where & when ? Over the summer do you mean Sept 10th same as all the other tournaments? You obviously know nothing! They entered the 05 division and then 05 parity schedule got switched and most of the 05's team could no longer play. We suggested they stay in and play with 04's and they won. What an a-hole! Speak of what you know... which is not much! Love that you follow them so closely.
What team are you even talking about?! They are not hosting a peewee tournament next month...! TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TEAMS!! Get a clue!
They have played 9 games so far this season and most better than the teams they played the last 2 years!! Sounds like it was a good move for their team. What do you care?
