What do I do if the team has a couple kids that are out of place? They dont belong at the elite level? Any advice? How would you approach the coach?
05 EHF Elite
Because elite isn't really elite?
Just aggravating to watch kids who dont belong at the elite level. I think the coach should should not, play them. It is painful when we play top level teams...should the coach reduce their ice time?
But I thought there were no Benders in EHF Elite!?!?
I saw a top 5 EHF team play recently and honestly 3/4 of those kids would be average at best in the E9.
Frustrated- I would ask the coach his opinion of the team and if he has any plans to improve the team. No need to call out kids to him. I was in a simular situation and the coach made it clear if the right kids became available he would not hesitate to upgrade.
You sir have just restored my faith in the dboard. Best, most accurate, post in a very long time. You can't hear it, but I'm clapping.....
Sorry your KID will be CUT IN MARCH!!!
Thank God for the Dboard! I am going to talk to the coach tomorrow and see what his plan will to improve the team. If i dont like the answer, I will try to undermine his authority so he will get fired. At least the benders will be gone and he will be done! Great advice from the Dboard.
Real issue on our team. Owners don't care about skill or ability. They care about money. Three extra benders is $9k.
OP....are you really asking this question. At the 05 level??? First off, it's a business. Go tell the coach someone else's kid doesn't belong and it might just get you an unwanted evaluation of your own kid or better yet your walking papers. Then you'll find yourself scrambling to find a new team....with guess what......the same situation ...... because.....it's a business! Focus on your own elite kid and enjoy watching him play. He will be in a beer league sooner than you think reaching into the cooler with those same benders you're dying to talk to the coach about. Fact.
How do you know I don't know how to evaluate talent? That's right, I know you! Your the chubby mother of that bender with the long hair wearing the brown and orange plaid pants 3 inches to short. I thought eating tree bark was a great weight loss strategy? Why is it not working for you hon? Just wondering...
True talent doesn't get "held back" by the performance (or non-performance) of others.
If you're using this as an excuse you haven't come to the realization your kid isn't as good as you think he is.
Hey buddy, two years from now when your kid decides he doesn't want to play anymore because dad is overbearing are you still going to come on and post?
You are clearly the parent of an 06, 05 or 04 and this is your first kid. You will learn young Luke Skywalker.
I don't understand why this thread has created all this emotion? I would guess it is better for the boys to be in the right situation. If they struggle, then they should be in a better place to succeed? Even if it means they get cut. I understand Frustrated and his/her position. just saying...
parents suck and they ruin it for the kids. whether they are benders or all-stars, does not matter, they all suck!
especially if the kid is a bender because they are aware that everybody is talking about them behind there back when the kid does not belong on the ice...
I agree that the parents ruin the experience for the kids. Bender or not, this is youth hockey and it should be fun for the kids.
Saw a bunch of benders down in Springfield this past weekend. These kids are not "elite"!
Bunch of benders got lit up by a BHL team...frustrated
Just curious, how does an ehf elite team get smacked around by a tier 2 bhl team?
Youth hockey is about development of elite talent, not getting a ribbon for particiption. Its ok, you dont belong! Go play soccer with the town kids meatlick...
What do you do if 95% of a team is out of place and has teenagers upstairs assuring you that it will get better despite them having no experience?
