Re: Definition on an Elite team

If my kid is on the team it is elite.

Re: Definition on an Elite team

Good way to judge at this age is by how many kids are playing prep hockey

Re: Definition on an Elite team

Prep? This isn't 1985. Prep is OK like a lot of things now but not great.

Re: Definition on an Elite team

1985? The best kids in 1985 would be at CM. Kids are 14 and under, if they are good they've been recruited to play prep. They may move to juniors/ushl after that but for this age group the best are playing prep.

Agree. "Prep" covers a pretty wide spread of schools but is definitely not what it was 5 years ago let alone 30, It's still got the best young players. The top ISL/Keller Schools are holding their talent better than the next rung down.

What is an elite team at the top ages like 02 03 04 I see many teams call them self elite but not many to prove it.

Definition is : Top 20 kids that any given organization can get to play for them regardless of skill, if they are the best they had at tryouts then they are "elite".

Granted, some teams may have a few elite players, while other have 1 or 2, but the team is still "elite",because you payed to be called "elite" !
