Watch the game, thank whoever helped out, ask jr if he had fun and then go out for lunch.... the number of assistant coaches should not change a thing. Worried about the number of assistant coaches? Seriously?

Yeah....seriously. Assistant coaches help keep the flow of the game, opening the door, moving shifts, watching the clock, and managing penalties, so the coach can actually have time for coaching moments on the bench with players. Your skepticism is exactly what annoys parents....for 3k+ we don't want to watch a sh** show of 10 to 12 years olds fumbling over the administrative basics...Seriously Coach...get a clue!

Assitant coaches help at practice, and open/close doors, period. Moving shifts, watching the clock, managing penalties all fall under the head coach. As far as coaching moments, they take 15 seconds at a time/tops, a game is not the time to get a kid overthinking, head coach will point something out maybe draw on the board but practice is the time to go over this stuff. Its the holiday season, enjoy it.

Re: Who is right?

If this is true and you actually took the time to look it it up, you sir, need a life reality check!

Yeah I'm sure the IP address has a field indicating which youth hockey team their son plays on.

Re: Who is right?

Actually your ignorance to the fact that most coaches would take those opportunities to get his or her players learning to pay attention the ENTIRE game, even when on the bench, and you when coach says "change it up", they actually, you know, hop over those boards and go on for their shift while the others are coming off. It's not rocket science. It's not difficult. You don't "Need" an adult to open a freaking door. Kids as young as squirts can do that. Parents like you raising kids like this who cant do a **** thing for themselves is actually what is wrong with this world right now. Hockey isn't about JUST playing and teaching the game of hockey, there is a life lesson in every single sheet of ice. No one should be afraid or concerned because their child has had the opportunity to learn a new aspect of the game they are playing.
