Getting weaker each year after Pee Wee minor. That year for 03's had 8 of top ten Canadian teams plus a bunch of top US teams. This year the top Canadian team was the #18 Brantford 99ers, they're ok very big but slow.
Whoa whoa whoa, stop the clock. My kid is an 04, so I know nothing about 05 EHF except what I read on here, and the Islanders seem to take a lot of punishment. Now you're going to devalue what they accomplished this weekend? Any time you travel that far from home and make it to a final game in a tournament of that caliber, it is an accomplishment that should be celebrated and not minimized. In your race to discount their accomplishment, you failed to note that they ran the table through the semis (6 wins without a loss) and stayed within 2-0 in the final against the Canadian #2 Marlboros. That's a **** good run. I'm no Islander lover, but congratulations to that team.

You have to remember that most of the people on here bashing teams are very close to the Federal Poverty level, the ones who talk about how great their player is and constantly use I, Me, Mine are in the Upper class, and the ones who get it like you and I are blue collar workers.
Florida Alliance is a joke with 15 games played and was exposed. Royals at #9 and a few Canadian teams. Only good team was the #2 Toronto team.
Hey, but don't let the facts get in the way.
Nobody said they should be anointed the best team in the land, only that the accomplishment was impressive. They went about as far as they should have. Many teams don't.
They cant control who showed up or dictate the schedule. Still an impressive performance and get over the rankings - after the top 7-8 it's garbage anyway.
Plus, all of the top Canadian teams (Titans, Nationals, Barrie Colts, Jr. Canadians, Toro's, Red Wings, etc.) that were there last year chose not to go. There were 3-4 decent teams this year, a far cry from last year when the tournament was loaded with the top teams from the USA and Canada.
04 group was not as strong as in years past. 2 of top 3 teams in North America were still there, and a few other elite teams, but most of the rest of the field were more like top-25 teams. Not bad but not hyper-elite.
As previous poster said, there was a SuperSeries which pulled teams + SilverSticks was also this weekend and pulled some teams.

Hyper-elite?
That is new division for youth hockey. You are AA, AAA, Elite, Hyper-Elite

For 2004s the Q is in a few weeks, so I'm sure some of the top teams passed on the Cup this year. I was surprised to see MFF 04 there.
