Re: What happened to the Kennedy

Anon
This used to be one of the premier tournaments, with top teams from local, regional, national, and Canada.

EHF wont send their elite teams so they dont look bad. if they do they play down.

Re: What happened to the Kennedy

Ask why the Kennedy has failed, consider the fact that the caps control which applications are excepted and and which ones are not. They look at where theirs teams fall at each level and will only accept lesser teams, it's a fact. This is why they have so many non-elite teams playing in all elite divisions.
It's a shame, because the Kennedy tournament once was a first class experience, now it is so evident what the selection group is doing, it will be difficult to get talented teams to come anymore.
Ask around, how many teams were put on the waiting list, and who got accepted. Also, ask how many received notice 2 weeks before the start of the tournament telling them they are in.

Re: What happened to the Kennedy

I'm hoping my kid's team gets excepted next year. Except I mean accepted! You Idiot! Spend your money on your kids education so he turns out better off than you.

Once the Kennedy family sold the rights to the tournament to Legacy sports it's been downhill since then. Most people now do not know who John and his father were since they both passed. Truly unfortunate because it was the best tournament around for the longest time

There are no good local tourneys anymore. Closest is the Super Series and even that is dropping off. If you want a good tourney you have to travel. Tourneys in this area are a joke now.

Re: What happened to the Kennedy

God Awful teams and way over priced is my 2 cents. Awful hockey!!!

Re: What happened to the Kennedy

Don't parents have to pay an entry fee to watch their kids play at this tournament? I guess, team's tournament fee does not cover it? Wild concept. I know they do this in Canada and disagree.

Re: What happened to the Kennedy

There was no entry fee at RISC, I was there all weekend, no entry fees at all.

Entry fee was for older age groups

Re: What happened to the Kennedy

Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't the oldest group 2002? Again - watched 2002 all weekend - no entrance fee, at least at RISC anyway - maybe other rinks were charging?

Re: What happened to the Kennedy

He was shot in Dallas then his kid flew his plane into the ocean ..

Re: What happened to the Kennedy

No fee and great hockey. Team had fun and would highly recommend.
