Anytime a new league (or program) is formed you need USA Hockey approval. You submit your application, it goes under review, then you are asked to present your case/rules/blah blah blah. This process takes many months. No such application has been submitted, so ain't happening for next year. Sorry Rumorville, you need some other BS to talk about.

I think the idea is to break away from USA Hockey just as their new Jr League has done! Frankly, not sure why anybody really needs USA hockey? They really don't do much for the majority of players and organizations anyway.
Maybe this exodus will encourage others to do the same
Youth hockey was good about 25 years ago when kids played town and then the real elite players were selected to play for there District represented team in the Mass Select League or in the Original Metro Boston League. There was never more than 15-20 "Elite" "Select" or "AAA" programs. Now there are 40+!!! Chew on that for a second.

Someone always stands to profit from the unrealistic dreams of others.

And we all have a lot more money than our parents and need a place to spend it.

In most instances we don't have more, we just spend more! Our parents didn't spend much when we were kids and now sitting large!
We just give our kids everything they want but this is a tipicvfor a different forum
Not looking to add to the drama but I have a buddy who's brother-in-law works with a guy familiar with National Bus Sales. He said a certain high-profile person with ties to the EHF as well as the USPHL was inquiring about at 2010 Thomas HDX, seats 44 and has 150K on the clock. He specifically asked if they could color match paint if he brought in a jersey.
So I'm not sayin this a go but this is not just a coincidence either. You tell me this ain't happenin.

So your cousins, uncles , brothers , friend herd it from a guy, while standing in line at D&D that someone in a bus company asked about a bus? Right.....

Most dominant league in New England? Ehhh...look at the programs as a whole...
Boston Advantage - Ehhhh.
Boston Jr Eagles - solid
Boston Jr Terriers - Ehhhh
CT Jr Huskies (currently Falcons) - ooof
Lovell Knights - ooof
Middlesex Braves/Advantage ICE - ooof
Minuteman Flames - solid
Ninety-Five Giants- ooof
Providence Capitals- ooof
TopGun- ooof
I much rather be in the league with Kings, islanders, Breakers and bandits....
Good call, Bandits program is super strong and Breakers are really really good. You should bring your son to that league, he could play for Hartford and travel to Albany every other weekend to play CP Dynamo. Go get 'em!
Both leagues sound like awful options to be honest.

Agreed, and seriously, Top Gun? what a joke.
So we could have more divisions:
Ehhhh Division with 2 teams
OOOF Division with 6 teams
Solid Division with 2 teams
then you would be happy right?
2 best recoreds in OOOF play the 2 Ehhhh teams and winners play Solid. This makes sense. Great idea. I hate youth sports
Will this new league have an All-Star game like the EHF?
Yes, all star game at each age group. Only the best kids invited - similar to the current EHF all star game that happens every March. Rumor is they're taking the best of the EHF rules / engagements.
1) All Star game;
2) Only allowed to play against opponents in the new USPHL HPYHL - no playing E9, or EHF;
3) With the exception of this year, tryouts will be before Christmas so the second half of the season is really uncomfortable in the locker room for parents who are moving on and those that don't want to make eye contact;
4) also similar to the current EHF, there will be a posted ranking for each player in the league that changes week to week. The difference is that it will be posted publicly, not like the current EHF player ranking which is only available to coaches.
I just hope they can get past the bus clause to make this work.
Tournament on the Cape this weekend. Waiting for my "Town" kid's practice.
The tournament ran longer than expected.
Finals, an EHF team against a "Town" team from New York.
02' Level the EHF team was terrible. No puck movement, standing still and lack of any defense. Goalie was very good, "Gabe" they were yelling. No he is not my kid! Yes they did make it to the finals, but I am glad I did not have to watch that all weekend.
I know not all the EHF teams are like this but it just goes to show if you have some money you can get your kid on a team.
It seems to be very watered down.
Just to have some fathers say their kid plays in the EHF with their buddies at work.
Letters do not mean too much!

First, letters do mean a lot (or too much as referenced above). That's why "they" are starting the USPHLHPY Division. You'll have USPHLHPYDN and USPHLHPYDS. If its a good product you may end up with USPHLHPYDE and USPHLHPYDW. SO letters do mean something...especially on a league tracksuit.
I agree with the money statement from the posters above. If you have money (or a bus or a van) and can move past the so called "bus clause" to get this league going, you will really impress your buddies at work.
