Re: Down Goes 07 IHC

IHC had players missing, we got lucky

Yikes...1-1 tie to BJE on Super bowl Sunday...beginning of the decline in IHC land? I can think of a couple of parents who couldn't sleep after that one...
Unacceptable! We need to replace the coach and cut half of the kids on the team!

Re: Down Goes 07 IHC

Total Rebuild starting right now

Wow 9 year olds. Most just started playing my a couple of years ago and can't even tie their skates. You are the problem with today's hockey parent. YIKES

I get what you're saying and all, but if a team carries itself like they are out to capture the world championship, do they not invite this type of comment when they finally fall back to the pack? I can guarantee you the coaching staff and benefactor of this team don't treat it like "9 year old hockey". Right or wrong, I think that opens them up to criticism and ridicule when their grand plan (which we all know is ridiculous) shows signs of cracking. Has nothing to do with the 9 year old kids on the team, none of whom read this discussion board.

Fair post...Parents of this team troll this board and insult other teams and stir the pot on various 07 topics. You can't have it both ways. You can't come on here and pound your chest, but once your cinderella season comes to an end go and pull the "they're 9 years old, shame on you" card.

So, your moral compass is set to be at the same level as the lowest lowlife you come in contact with?

Same guy/woman said the same thing a week ago, about the same team and offered the same lame excuse for why it was OK to slam 9 year olds. Sorry your kid got cut.

Re: Down Goes 07 IHC

What is the grand plan?
I agree that the team brings on the attention positive and negative but how is one tie in 60 games, against a top 12 team that they've beat 3 other times this season, a sign that things are cracking?

The grand plan seems to be to assemble a team that goes undefeated, defeats all comers and stays "ranked" #1...thereby attracting talent - and more importantly, volume - to the program up and down the age levels. You can't say that this hasn't worked. IHC now becoming viewed as the gold standard in New England youth hockey - for whatever that is worth. You can debate the merits of this, or whether this is even their plan, or even the business ethics of a plan like this, but there you have it - or at least one opinion on what the "grand plan" is from a casual observer.

The grand plan is to repeat the accomplishment of his 2000 and win the Q. If you don't know that, you probably aren't qualified to comment on this thread.

And to clarify, I'm not saying they are cracking after one tie. I meant that people will pounce on this team after one upset that means nothing. This will be something parents of players on that team will need to deal with for the next four years. For many, that will be worth the opportunity for development that this team provides. They get a ton of ice and the best coaching they can find. No expense will be spared to achieve their goal.

Re: Down Goes 07 IHC
