Reading some of these posts...you begin to wonder...(no, it hits you in the face like a bag of rocks), what are we doing to our kids? Hopefully, they are not aware of all the crap on the boards and behind the scenes. But really, this team is washed up, this coach sucks, this parent's a nightmare, this mom's a puck whatever, this kid's a traiter, this one's a goon (oh yeah and they're 8). I'm on here too. I'm adding to it. And believe me it's freaking entertaining...(translation: my life's pretty boring) but you start to think youth hockey is all so jaded (because it is). People think their kid is going to BC and then the NHL (only mine is). Most won't even play high school (mine will). The rest will end up painting my kids house because mom and dad never had a plan B for little Johnny. NHL all the way baby! Am I right? But hey, we all have a dream (mine got crushed so its all up to my kid to bring it home). Luckily, he's elite all the way, in the FED and scouted regularly since Mites...well since Farm really, but who's keeping track. I'm sure there will be some snarky comments about me thinking my kid is awesome and it will sting a bit (because Mr. Hockey didn't pick up on the fact that this post is dripping in sarcasm and my kid quite possibly is a bender) but it's all ok. Youth hockey is fun. Our kids ALL work harder than most kids and adults. They love what they do. They strive to be the best. And hopefully, they're learning to be good people along the way....And in the meantime, we get some great entertainment, some great insight into how it all works, some examples of how not to be, some very juicy gossip, and a sampling of the general population in all its glory. I'll take the good, bad and the ugly with the boards. And before you tell me to get a life....I'm bored today, work is slow and I had nothing better to do on my break...I'll admit it . You got me.
I wish the old board would come back.
I'm sure over time, this board will develop our own Cap A and Timber and some of the others who have been enshrined in the dBoard HOF. Until then, I've got to get my wife to her meeting with the coach to review my benders spot on the team.
