who cares. its a spring tourny where you pay to get in. No one is watching besides insane parents who think it actually matters 10 years down the road and cant figure out why their bender isnt playing in the NHL.
What he actually was asking was, "Isn't it great that my kid is in an elite tournament?"
I can't decide who is a bigger loser, the guy that asked who is going to win the '06 Shamrock or the guy that answered the question seriously and added graphics.... enjoy the game and spend your time how you want, just pump the breaks on taking it too seriously, its a spring event and you will be in Foxborough all weekend watching 10/11 year olds play hockey... not exactly one of life's high points I hope, try not to attract attention to yourself.
06 Tropics will be heavily favoured but they tend to have more dramatics in that organisation.
First, I do know that there is some distension on that team. I bet you my double-double and a dutchie that you'll have kids leaving the team before the end of the weekend.
The rest of the field is mediocre at best. Lot's of good kids sprinkled in with marginal players walking around with their winter teams toque on.
No scout will be seen inside - most are staying close to their 24 of Blues in the lot or when they need to be in, having a tip of their mickey by the glass.
Bunch of keener's walking around this AM talking to coaches about their young guns.
Saw a kerfuffle when someone knocked over a kid on MassEdge.
Anyone know what regular season team(s) the 06 S. Nassau Rock hail from? They had some pretty impressive players.
Thanks KP and good question. Similar situation to your team the South Nassau Team pulls kids from the surrounding area. Tough game bro! Better luck next time!

Was there any team there with their own roster? I know 2 different kids from two different orgs that played on two different teams.

The East Coast Express, same roster. Headed to E9 next year and will likely FED 06 elite teams as welll.
I was obviously aware that the Rock pulled kids from different teams, but was curious what league. They obviously showed that you don't have to be EHF elite or E9 or MA to be the best.
I still get a kick out of the Vipers. They put their 2006 team in who have been together forever and got rolled. Should've have jumped and taken the E9 BJR when they had the chance to get a fresh start.
BJR kids offered nothing but a losing attitude to the process. Breakers kids showed off their dirty cheapshots. Tropics the class of the tourney, despite having a few IHC kids on the team...

Tropics had flames best player as well and they still lost.

They had 2 IHC kids and 2 that are leaving the Advantage for better hockey (going to IHC). If they were the class of the tourney, it was because of the IHC players not despite them...
Not a surprise the kid that did it was from the 06 Breakers. Something Sully? Just a regular hit for one of the hacks from Rockland.
That team is embarrassing
Relax pops - the hit wasn't horrible, he didn't line the kid up or anything. It was a hard hockey play and the other kid, being much smaller, went hard into the boards. The ref even said it wasn't that bad but it was a hit from behind and he had to give the player a misconduct.
The kid's father (coach) who was injured on the play got tossed for language and then pulled the kid off.
I have no affiliation with the breakers but I do think your blowing it out of proportion.

I like the 2 hand chops and cross checks from behind we have all come to know the breakers for!
Coached to be punks
Yep, and they wonder why they are becoming the bottom of the barrel, they are a sinking ship and they only way teams like that can stay afloat is to play dirty since they lack skill

No affiliation with the Breakers and you talked to the ref about the hit? It's 10 year old hockey BTW. Might be a "good hit" in a few years but not now and not when a kid not expecting it or knowing how to take it gets hit like that.

Yes, I have affiliation with the Breakers; there were kids from other orgs on that team. Yes, talked to the ref about the hit. The glass broke later in the game and the game was called - there were a few parents speaking with the ref about calling the game.
I realize it's 10 year old hockey; that's why I said the kid didn't line the other kid up for a hit and there is starting to be a big difference in size between kids. I didn't say it was a "good hit" please read what I said.
People make it seem like this kid lined up the other player with an intent to injure. It's just not the case and I certainly don't think a kid should get a bad reputation because he was involved.
I have seen multiple kids on the 06 elite breakers hit with the intent to hurt without a doubt. I'm told the worst offenders are some of the coaches kids.

It's interesting how the bottom dweller teams have to teach their kids to play that way since they either don't have kids with skills and can't develop them better to ave the skills they need to play hockey

There was intent. They did play dirty. They are either dirty players on their own or taught that by someone already at 10 years old. Congratulations on being affiliated with loser coaches and players and thinking it's ok. Tells a lot about your character and I'm sure your Sons as well

My bad - I meant "no" affiliation with the breakers. As far as my character; I don't really care what you think. Regarding my son's, he's a clean player and plays the game right.
I was there, I didn't see intent. If you ask most of the parents, they didn't either. As far as the kid that was penalized; I stand by my comments that overall, he's not a dirty player. There are some dirty players on the breakers but I wouldn't put that kid in with the group.

It comes down to coaching, you can't just throw a bunch of studs on a team and think you will win a tournament, even the lowly shamrock. More and more we see these amazing "coaches" try this chirade only to end up falling short.
nothing to do with coaching - it's a spring tournament. It's a good indication of overall problem with Mass hockey. There is a group of kids at every age group that go to every skills session under the sun and play on every tournament team out there. Over time these kids become the "anointed" ones because they are most visible. As they get older some of these kids are truly the best players in the age group - most of them are not anymore. Over time the athletes will prevail - lot of big strong "athletes" out there that don't play hockey 12 months a year - these are the kids to watch out for going forward.
