pretty much spot on. Losing 3-1 to westchester (basically a recruited team with kids from different teams - explain how islanders kids are now rostered on this team?) and losing 2-1 to little ceasars (#2 in country) is a solid showing. Players can lose in their state tournament then jump on other teams so they can go to nationals? What happened to Usa rosters and bringing your real team?
Cheating is rampant in national tournament and USA hockey does nothing about it.

I think you missed the point. Point being teams build for nationals - they all do. You pick your team, roster then and play entire season with that team, you go your state or regional tournament and win and go to nationals with that team. Picking up players from other regions and teams and after they participated in their own state tournament and lost is cheating anyway you look at it. Many teams do it but it's not right.

You have no clue. Do you??? SSK did not "steal" any players as it is a different landscape after bantam minor. BSB 02 team blew up all on its own. Some went to SSK and others to terriers Bandits didn't have a u14 team. Flames and islanders tried to build teams to win states as well. They fell short Westchester let 2 players go and replaced them with islander players because the proximity of Andover to Westchester, NY is so close. SSK did no such thing. Played with team that won states while its first round opponent at nationals decided it needed better players to be a better team
Games against Westchester and Little Ceasars were up and down games which could have gone either way Outshot Westchester and was out shot by little Ceasars by one shot No shame and no excuses made by SSK team. They played extremely well and could have used a few bounces
Now let it go as obviously this team has done a lot of good things over the years. Things I am sure that you were not even close to achieving. Now let the jealousy go. You will feel a lot better

Nobody really ********* Original OP stated that SSK "cheated" by taking BSB bandits and flames players. Just pointing out differences between picking a team at beginning of the year and then recruiting during the year. USA hockey allows this type of manipulation so all is legal SSK has nothing to be but proud of its accomplishments. Period
The Kings declined relative to the other top teams nationally and internationally. At younger ages they were as good or better than the best teams out there but as they got older the other top teams in the US and Canada teams continued to develop. In the small pond they were still at or near the top but teams like Westchester improved and eventually passed them. What were the other programs doing to develop their players better. Was it as simple as better coaching, or more emphasis on individual skill development? Or were most of these kids early developers and the pack caught up as they got older?

They loaded up this year and gave it a shot, got to play against the best talent in the country and were competitive

There is definitely two different things going on here, if what some others say is true. If Westchester had kids on their roster that we also rostered on another national bound team which lost their state, then this is indeed against the rules. But USA Hockey could care less unless someone else makes the effort to look into it and report it. Otherwise, they don't care. What this SSK team did is fine and to be expected. USA Hockey only cares about whether you have paid your registration fee. Once that's done, they could care less about what happens after.

you need to let it go. it sounds a lot like excuses. Westchester didn't even make it to the final four and Colonials got walloped by Mission in the finals. all that says that local teams find it hard to compete on the national level and that even an exceptional goaltender like DC can't win you a championship on his own.

Yep. As long as the IHC players were de-rostered from IHC and got in 10 games, they were ok to play. Look for USA Hockey to close the Westchester Loophole next season.
At least Westchester didn't make their closest rival sit their top player. Sorry IHC.
