What happened to CT?

The team from last season went elite. (whole team) The team at parity was a new team and will struggle in silver.

What would you like them to be aware of? That they suck? Lots of teams suck. Thankfully that is what silver is for. But who says they have no right to belong in a tournament? This was only to see if they can make it into black. Anyone who got into black won't be playing them anyway. You sound rediculous

The point I am making is that it changed the strength of schedule for all teams involved in the tourney. That bracket was a cake walk because the Rangers are a brand new team.

All they can do is base it on last years record. And for the record, if they considered it a new team, rules clearly stated where they would be in the lowest bracket and they still would have played the teams in the higher bracket. Let me quess? .... from a parent of a player on a team that didn't play the Rangers and "just missed" getting in the black? These things are not perfect. We had no idea going into the Rangers game what we were going up against. We went in expecting a loss and had no idea what went on with that team until we found out after they were putting an elite team and that is were their strongest players went. Look at other new teams over the year. No way to predict that they are able to pull in for talent. Hind site!

That works both ways as well, you have teams that made black because of the CT Rangers. For example, the Islanders drawing MMF and then winning 12-2 in their last game to put TG out by .05% on the third level tie breaker?

Likely SSK don't make it as well if they go 2-2 by losing to the former CT Rangers. So Islanders and Kings are in but TG and Monarchs get pushed out. Real tough spot for TG here. Look at MMF, that team is likely 0-4 and in a bad way heading to white parity without the gift of the new look CT Rangers. Their EMHL team coming up may just leapfrog them.

This is where orgs could be justified demanding that if a team has not a single returning player from their previous year's roster then that team is a new team and MHR does not apply to brackets and seeding.

This is like being at the hot Blackjack table and the guy next to you with an 18 takes a hit and get the Jack while you hold a 5 and a 6. What are you gonna do, get up from the table?

This is the format- honestly no team is prevented from appearing in parity and paying the $$, so you'll get some of this from time to time.

I'm a little confused by your rational: Kings got 4th place. And Kings's, BJE and both had one loss. You can't predict what team they would have played to say either one of them would have went 2-2. This is clearly a top gun parent who was on the board last year whining about playing white. And the new Islanders team, that they say is brand new would be in the same position as Rangers but clearly much better. The terriers white had 2 loses and a tie so even IF either the BJE or Kings had 2 loses, that team still finished below Kings/BJE and above Top Gun. Get over it Top Gun

There wouldn't be a 1 or 2 next to their many becsuse they they don't have 2 teams in tier 1. Teams like Islanders have that designation due to the 2 tier 1 teams. They have a team in Elite this year and I also talked to someone on the team who confirmed that is where the majority of their team from last year went. And, having played them multiple times over the last couple of years i can assure you that absolutely was not the same team. 2 years ago every player on that team was quite skilled. This year, not only were they skillled, but incredibly aggressive, no way they had 10 returning players!

It's interesting when you play the same teams after a few years how you can get to recognize players and coaches. ....

Correct. Most didn't realize they put in an Elite team and you have no idea what their tier 1 team and draw in. So now we have posters on another thread wining because the teams that played them got a "cake walk" of a schedule

Terriers won all 4/Kings won 3 and they both had 1 point game with Islanders 2. They can clearly compete with either of those teams. Only top gun is complaining

Top Gun got jobbed, no doubt, but maybe a blessing in disguise. Ask the River Hawks how it felt to play a whole season and only win a couple games. Not the best thing for a kid's confidence.

How did Top Gun get jobbed. If they made it in the next team below them would be whining. That's just how it goes.

Because the #1 seed in the tourney ended up in 15th place. All the brackets are structured based upon those rankings/seedings.

And do you think that was some conspiracy to keep Top Gun out and get the teams that played Rangers in? No way to know how good any new team will be. Everyone will admit there are flaws in parity. If you don't think everyone South of Boston cringed two years eveytime they saw that drive to the icenter on the schedule. Kids loved it because they got to try out different positions because coaches were nice enough not to run up the score. So last year they made some changes and had a decent year. That's great. And yes, I'm sure most would admit that the bottom few in the black might find a competitive game against last years two top white teams but we are still splitting hairs here. Fortunately we won't have to listen to Top Gun parents complain about just how horrible it is to play those bottom teams that will now be known as Silver and the white division will be stronger with a few of last years black teams in white. My suggestion: you got next year, move on and get over it because no one likes a whiner

Both TG and IHC2's opponents totaled 8-8 records. IHC had CJR on its schedule, TG had ICHT. Both 0-4 teams. TG Dad is splitting hairs here. Two goals made the difference, where TG lost it's bid was in their 2 goal loss to NS Shamrocks.

Definitely not a conspiracy. I'm guessing only ones who knew would be CT Rangers. It's just how it turned out that a couple teams benefited as a result and one that was right on the bubble got bumped out by that fact alone. It's not whining it's just an opportunity for improvement in the parity seeding system. If you return less that 50% of your team from last year, you're a new team. Easy enough. White will be much better now instead of just two teams running away with it. Everyone is going to be better off and that's all that matters.

Even though you've clearly dismissed them, two White teams essentially played into Black and would have made it as at large bids had the real CT Rangers(as seeded) showed up.


Kings don't beat the CT Rangers team from last year 8-2 and therefore go 2-2 ---that's not a stretch to say. They're odd man out. Happy for them playing in, they absolutely deserve it, but that CT Rangers win was the golden ticket. Same for Islanders 2, they got a freebie.

Islander 1 was on the bubble anyway going in from last year's standings, got beat 7-0 by TG.

Not a TG parent but they got jobbed here by CT Rangers. Kings and Islanders 2 get the #1 seed turning into a layup. So much for the hardest road going through bracket A.

Meant they(Islanders 1) would be on the bubble for a top 10 spot having finished in 7th last year. TB% for Islanders 2 and SSK is frankly all CT Rangers skew. GF hugely impacted by that.

So again, Top Gun jobbed by the mis-seeding of the brackets and Kings and Islanders 2 get in from it. It's not a conspiracy or even deliberate on anyone's part, that's just the reality. On to summer hockey.

They weren't even the class last year.

BSB went 2-0-1 against them late and knocked them out of semis.

Shamrocks beat them in quarters.

Doubt it was the whole team but if you look at the bottom Elite teams, they might win a few. There has to be a first and there has to be a last, right?

If you look at the MHR, you will see that they played the last place EHF elite 06 NE Junior Falcones elite during the season and lost 8-5. They had some very good individual talent, but didn't pass well enough to beat good teams when it counted. I suppose you're going to say they left their better players home for that game as well. They might obviously improve if they are going to play an elite schedule since that would attract better players. Regardless, traveling 3-4 hours each way to play a youth hockey game is absurd.
