I don't think he said SSK cheated. SSK loaded up and recruited other players to their program in a bid for nationals. I think you said doing one (Westchester) is cheating doing the other (SSK) is normal practice. I don't care either way, but the complaining sounds a lot like excuses.

There is definitely two different things going on here, if what some others say is true. If Westchester had kids on their roster that we also rostered on another national bound team which lost their state, then this is indeed against the rules. But USA Hockey could care less unless someone else makes the effort to look into it and report it. Otherwise, they don't care. What this SSK team did is fine and to be expected. USA Hockey only cares about whether you have paid your registration fee. Once that's done, they could care less about what happens after.

For clarification purposes - what the SSK did was normal and legal. They put together a team of local kids, played all season as that team and went to nationals with that same roster. They didnt add anyone midseason or after other teams were eliminated. Westchester put together a team then added players mid season from other teams that were eliminated from nationals. Some states allow that if a kid plays 10 games with team. Its shady but allowed. BJE did the same last season and Mass Hockey wasnt fond of it so they wont allow it anymore. Several of the top teams in nationals are put together from kids all over the country - NJ Colonials were kids from several states, SSM are kids from across the country - SSK was made up just local kids who played well and represented well.

Yep. As long as the IHC players were de-rostered from IHC and got in 10 games, they were ok to play. Look for USA Hockey to close the Westchester Loophole next season.

At least Westchester didn't make their closest rival sit their top player. Sorry IHC.

Good goalie - team undersized

pretty much spot on. Losing 3-1 to westchester (basically a recruited team with kids from different teams - explain how islanders kids are now rostered on this team?) and losing 2-1 to little ceasars (#2 in country) is a solid showing. Players can lose in their state tournament then jump on other teams so they can go to nationals? What happened to Usa rosters and bringing your real team?

Cheating is rampant in national tournament and USA hockey does nothing about it.

I would have more respect for this excuse making if SSK did not pilfer from rosters throughout the EHF to prepare for this, Breaker goalie Breaker D and Forward Flame forward and D Bandit D they did all their players stealing at the start of the season

They can't score, is 1 shot in the 3rd last night correct? the added players have given them nothing in the tournament and the all world goalie who is supposed to be better than the former Islander gave up 5 in 2 games which was not good enough when your offense struggles

Their division had two good teams and one easy one, just like the other 3, now it's time to make excuses, which is bush

You have no clue. Do you??? SSK did not "steal" any players as it is a different landscape after bantam minor. BSB 02 team blew up all on its own. Some went to SSK and others to terriers Bandits didn't have a u14 team. Flames and islanders tried to build teams to win states as well. They fell short Westchester let 2 players go and replaced them with islander players because the proximity of Andover to Westchester, NY is so close. SSK did no such thing. Played with team that won states while its first round opponent at nationals decided it needed better players to be a better team

Games against Westchester and Little Ceasars were up and down games which could have gone either way Outshot Westchester and was out shot by little Ceasars by one shot No shame and no excuses made by SSK team. They played extremely well and could have used a few bounces

Now let it go as obviously this team has done a lot of good things over the years. Things I am sure that you were not even close to achieving. Now let the jealousy go. You will feel a lot better

This is exactly what the Kings did this year I bring certain players in. Great local team, subpar national team. Sorry to hit you with that dose of reality. Also, never have and never will be a big game team. Always lose when it counts.
