I highly doubt those were town hockey players. Our D-I high school team has maybe one or two token town midget players and the other 20+ kids come out of club / select hockey. Town hockey is over. It's a baby sitting service and a great place for a kid to start. If you are playing town by peewee you won't be playing on a very good high school team and most likely the kid will be playing other sports.

EHF is so overrated... it's parents pumping up their egos.... means absolutely nothing come high school....

Yes, the parents are pumping their egos, but it is by far the best league around here. Every year the top 3 or 4 teams are nationally ranked and the rest of the teams and their players improve by being pushed every game. This is fact and cannot being disputed. E9 has some very good teams and players and after that it thins out. Does not mean there are not good teams and players outside of those two leagues.

Arlington kids played for the coaches on one or two of the independent teams they assembled. Kids stuck around ( some for five years) and it worked out well for them. Hats off to them!

You will see all of the better FED and E9 players are playing Prep, CC, D1 HS or FS Midget. Very few stick around D2/3 for more than a year.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Those egos you were talking about are cut from the same cloth that you non FED parents Bruised Egos are cut from.

My kids are in high school and still playing at a high level.

I believe everything I previously stated. You will see, those who work hard and excel will climb the ladder. It happens in other sports too. Go ask the parents with High School aged kids who play sports. I threw in the FED4Life just for giggles, knowing it would ruffle feathers. Oh well.

So they must have won the state championship for town programs then too. Anyone know where the Mass Hockey list of winners for the past year is????

Actually, that's the nice part about baseball season, where our kids can have fun playing baseball against others from around town. I notice my son has just as much fun playing against the Steve's Hardware Store Brewers at the local ball field as he does playing hockey against super deluxe EHF elite hockey teams an hour away. And, at 11, there's nowhere near as much talk of who is elite although we can see who the better players are at this point while realizing that may not be the case in four or five years when they get to high school.

you obviously don't know much about hockey then , Arlington was far from C level players , lots of strong talent . Along with a great tender .

With all the different options for full season hockey less and less are going the catholic route .

A public winning the Super 8 is more about the state of HS Hockey than anything else .

Mass HS Hockey is about four years away from becoming NH HS Hockey ......

Do you recycle that 4 years away line every year hoping it's going to come true one of these days. Been hearing that line for 30 years and it's still a crock of crap. High School hockey in MA is what it always has been. A good proving ground for kids to see if they actually have what it takes to play at a higher level before moving onto bigger and better things. (Prep, Junior and maybe some day College hockey.) Just because you pay, doesn't mean little Jonny can or will play. And with the ever expanding national and international player base moving into Prep, Jr and College hockey, most MA hockey folks are probably far better off spending their money else where. But hey, gotta keep your dream alive, right.

If they are so good who is committed to a school. High School hockey is second and third rate to Junior and U18 now. The talent level simply isn't there anymore. No more MC powerhouses. Too bad but that Super 8 was horrible talent.

I hate to admit it because I love HS sports over club, but poster is right. My oldest played HS at a D1 school, just graduated. He's not a very good player compared to his little brother, who will be a frosh. The youngster heading the club route. Can't even compare the talent levels.
