Rifles should not have to go through parity at this point as most of their teams hold their own in the league though the 05
Has struggled to get out of parity the past several years. several of their teams often reach the league playoffs and last year Rifles 06 almost won the championship. Meantime lesser programs have been charter members not having to do play ins and are bottom dwellers at several levels. Makes sense at this point but don't know the details.
The 05 Rifles have never qualified for the E9 through parity and they get an automatic bid this year? Glades and Saints played in E9 last year but have to do parity again this year? Something doesn't feel right about that....
Rifles org is stronger top to bottom than Saints and Glades. Plus, geographically it makes sense for the E9 to give them an auto-kid (protection) to better attract kids from that area.
Agree that it is probably not fair that the 05 Rifles get an automatic bid. However, I wouldn't use the Glades or Saints as teams to rally around.
Both teams have had their chance in the E9 and done poorly. The 05 Saints, in particular, have (somehow) qualified at least a couple of times and haven't even come close to being competitive. They get hammered year after year.
It really comes down to the fact that the E9 parity tournament has a bunch of really weak teams sprinkled with a several teams (like the Saints and Glades) that have a few good players that carry them through to the E9. However, those players aren't able to "one on one" dominate against most of the E9 teams like they did in the parity .. . so it makes for a long season.
Honestly, both the Glades and Saints probably belong in the BHL. Better for the kids to win a little and develop against like talent as opposed to getting crushed week after week.
Rifles organization is on life Support. Can Barely put a full squad on the ice at most birth years. They care nothing about the kids, just your check. They lose kids to Mass/Conn at an alarming rate and could care less. Being in the area they are you would think they would try harder to be a good organization. If they put some effort into running it right they would dominate the area exclusively. As it stands now kids would rather play town A or Huskies/ Thunderbirds over the Rifles. Wish I left back in April like all the smart parents
Rifles are not on life support. Their top teams do pretty well in the E9. The 06 elite team is the strongest team in the program and ranked pretty high. The earlier poster must be referring to the lower teams. Most of those kids in the Rifles, along with players on second and third teams in most other organizations should really just be playing in strong town organizations. It makes sense financially and the coaching as well as the level of play will be no different on those second and third teams really between the Rifles and town hockey. Fact.
Besides 07and 06 what birth years have more than one team??? And the 06's have a few 07's on the team if I'm not mistaken. And I agree if you aren't on the top Rifles team you might as well play for HN.
How does one person coach 5 hockey teams??
This is our first year with the Rifles..these post dont make me feel confident!
what age group?
If you have two teams at each birth year, you're hardly on life support. There are organizations out there making do with much less.
He might be the best in the area, but he has never played at the 05 level.
Rifles lose to North Stars! Send them back to the BHL.
Tough weekend for the Rifles
they didn't even win champion in there div
