My son has played in both Ehl elite and e9. He currently plays in ehl elite. Our experience was that the e9 was right up with ehl elite except for some years there was a team on either side that was so good it would beat anyone from any org you put in front of them. In the end, follow the rules previously said in this post. Travel, coach, etc. We are ehl for those reasons.

What is tier 1? You mean tier 2. The only tier 1 teams in mass are ehf elite and e9, all the rest are tier 2 which is the same as town a. Get a grip people.

Nope. There are elite players and teams just not in the ehf tier 1 because that is not true tier 1( the highest level of USA hockey competition).

You don’t know me but I know you. You’re the overweight short guy living through your kid’s hockey career thinking his success will legitimize you as an athlete. You feel you need to rationalize your kid not making the organizations top team by tearing down kids who actually play at a higher level. On my oldest’s prep team it’s a pretty even distribution of ehf elite and e9 kids, but no tier 2 ehf kids or bhl select kids. It’s a marathon not a sprint, let’s not take 11 year old hockey too seriously, a lot changes between 11 and 18.

Did you ever stop to ponder what level those "Pee9" kids are. Most likely they are select kids playing in the BHL who want to take a step up. Most kids from E9 elite wouldn't bother trying out for an EHF Tier 1 color team - it just makes no sense.

Yes , Ehf elite is better than E9 , top 3 or 4 teams anyway. After that pretty much a wash. E9 is better than Ehf T1 , no comparison . Players don't willingly leave E9 teams for Ehf T1 . FACT !! you could probably argue the fact that BHL American is better than Ehf T1

i just love these 'conversations'. AND then in November of the follow year comes the coach/teammates/parents/travel 'suck' comments. stop chasing the name (league/team) and chose the coach. i hated my HS coaches because the morons would yell 'get it out'. SERIOUSLY you think my goal is different? thanks for that critical piece of coaching.

All I know is that 12 E9 kids have already skated at my kid’s T1 practice in the last month with half of them coming from one club in particular, (rhymes with Carriers) *cough-cough* . Keep fooling yourself into thinking T1 kids “move up” to E9.. And here’s the kicker... that loon of a coach plans to replace his defecting skaters with town kids. Good luck with that! 18-19 is going to be a complete dumpster fire up in Haverhill. Don’t ask me what birth year either, figure it out.

Keep fooling yourself you simpleton. Elite Warrior kids are coming to our practices, not Select... and may I add, they’re not even that good. One Dad lost his collective s#%+ when he was told his ‘elite warrior’ bender wasn’t good enough to make our T1 team.

I believe it.. several Elite and Tier 1 Black kids/parents (mostly parents) were utterly disgusted when they could not make our "elite" team. Yea, our elite team that plays in the BHL American !

I don't have a horse in this race but have close knowledge of both.

It's really close and depends on the team. In '06, I think the top 2 or 3 E9 teams might be a goal better than the top Black teams. It might be the difference of one or two players. The top Black teams are likely better than at least half of the E9 teams.

Weight the coaches, the commute, your gut...
