What a joke if it is. No wonder why its the number one girls program. Based on numbers I would say so. Assabet is still the best girls program, period.
Said by a true crazy and creepy old man in concord disciple.
assabutt did the same thing until other programs without crazy old kooks came around and offered better alternative. those glory days in concord are ovah my friend and creepy's sonny boy is inept.
So the best program in the state has 1 finalist out of 12 in the State championships and will send one team to the Nationals out of all divisions?
Enjoy the flag.
not exactly. Wizards are sending 3 teams but 2/3 probably would have gone as "At Large" anyway.
NOTE: Tier 1 only
U19 - Eagles(ranked #4) win states, Wizards go as host bid (ranked #7), Spitfires are #12 and the BEST PROGRAM(!) is #14
U16 - Wizards go as host bid (ranked #6), Breakers (ranked #11), Eagles win States and go as #12 seed, and the BEST PROGRAM(!) is #25
U14 - BEST PROGRAM(!) won States and Wizards (#17) go as host bid.
This is an awful post. Yes the Wizards do it, so what? And tier 2 girls hockey is still good hockey, comparable to girls high school hockey at the older levels.
CG is a ripper. Level 3 creep who ****** in water bottles on the bench. Guy who does his skills is a loser with a CAPITAL L. I will say he does not care about the money. Who knows why he does it but its not for the cash.
Fusco picks his top two teams and after that its upside down. He does not care about your kid. if you dont get in by 8 or 9 you will never break in to his top two teams.
He should fold his boys program. They are an embarrassment.
Breakers are a real organization.
If you let your daughter around that guy then shame on you. How many times do you think he’s walked into a house and heard “i’m chris Hansen” take a seat.
CG= LVL 3 :rotating_light: :rotating_light: :rotating_light:
the only reason his 14-1s are a wagon is bc of his HC. All his best younger players have left for vipers, wiz or elsewhere, anyone who has stayed has sold their soul or worse yet their kids
Wizards are clearly the best youth program around. Assabet’s best days are behind them. Feel free to argue why, their are many places to start. Yes, they have 1 exceptional team with the U14 group. You can’t argue with the fact for many years now the Wizards have had teams in the finals or win the finals at states for the U10/12/14 age groups. The U16/19 is a half season and far more concerned with college exposure.
Beyond that, the Wizards or Assabet having more than 1 or 2 teams is actually a good thing (one could argue). No, those teams aren’t competitive, but they give a bunch of girls a chance to play hockey. Charging them $4K may be highway robbery, but that’s up to the parents to make that call.
Wizards are a joke. Worth the travel to the breakers to play with good girls.
When is the field for the U 14 Nat announced?
Breakers got robbed!
Breakers did not get robbed. It was a numbers game. Unfortunate for the Breakers, but once Madison Capitols won the central district over one of the Chicago teams the jig was up. Both Chicago teams, Team Wisconsin and the other Detroit team got at-large bids. All were top 10 in MHR and had higher or nearly equivalent SOS ratings. Everybody can gripe about Washington Pride being in the tournament but every district that wants in gets a slot. Washington Pride is the de facto winner of their district so they are in. Yes they only have 2 wins listed but they also played and won against a number U16 teams which are not calculated in the MHR list.
This team from Washington got shutout by the Shamrocks a tier 2 team who just got outscored in the States 27-2 in three games.
They also paid the entry fee for the Stoney Creek event went 0-5 and was outscored 45-0
Don't care what U 16 benders they beat, not deserving to be at Nationals and maybe USA Hockey should address this and let the Breakers in.
You can’t write the rules so it works best for the Breakers. That’s why they have at large bids. Each district winner gets a shot. Washington may not have a chance, but it’s a fair process. Else all of the teams would come from MN, Detroit, Chicago and NE. It would be easy to argue the second team from MA should be the Thunderbirds as they were the runner ups at States. That would be a far more fair process than picking the next best team based upon an arbitrary web ranking.
Fusco bought a Prep School that his boys go to so they would play and this really surprised you?
Nonsense. If next year's team has more CT players than MA, they play in the CT States? Unlikely. Maybe now because their strategy failed but that's not how they ended up missing Nationals this year. They just thought they were better than they are. Just like the Breakers.
want some cheese for that whine?
That is a lot of teams
SF is the queen of the Tier 2 ball. He has taken so high end players and lost to lesser teams in Tier 1. He continually fills the bottom of his Tier 1 rosters with long time players who should be sent back to Tier 2 and take better players from outside the program.
What could be if this Ivy educated guy actually had a functioning brain. Unfortunately he does not. CG and MM own SF when it counts.
Problem is that many U14 parents think that Tier 1 and Tier 2 means something. Smart programs, that care about player development and less about banners, treat it like boys hockey. Tier 1 should be U14 half season with high school players. Tier 2 should be U14 full season with middle schoolers. Full season boys and girls at U14 allow for real practice time and skill development because your teammates aren’t leaving when the high school season begins or when they have Fall varsity sport commitments. If your player is good enough they will get plenty of visibility from prep schools and colleges at either Tier 1 or Tier 2.
Finally anyone that actually knows the Sorcerer or is a long time dboard reader knows that there is no speaking ill of the Wizards ever!
I love it how parents of girls can keep commenting on the same thread for weeks. Literally, weeks.
