Re: Is it True Fusco rolls out 4 or 5 girls teams at each level?

CG is a ripper. Level 3 creep who ****** in water bottles on the bench. Guy who does his skills is a loser with a CAPITAL L. I will say he does not care about the money. Who knows why he does it but its not for the cash.

Fusco picks his top two teams and after that its upside down. He does not care about your kid. if you dont get in by 8 or 9 you will never break in to his top two teams.
He should fold his boys program. They are an embarrassment.

Breakers are a real organization.

He started as a girls only with Wizards. Rumor is he is thinking of shutting down the boys program and having 6 teams at each level.

If you let your daughter around that guy then shame on you. How many times do you think he’s walked into a house and heard “i’m chris Hansen” take a seat.

the only reason his 14-1s are a wagon is bc of his HC. All his best younger players have left for vipers, wiz or elsewhere, anyone who has stayed has sold their soul or worse yet their kids

Re: Is it True Fusco rolls out 4 or 5 girls teams at each level?

Wizards are clearly the best youth program around. Assabet’s best days are behind them. Feel free to argue why, their are many places to start. Yes, they have 1 exceptional team with the U14 group. You can’t argue with the fact for many years now the Wizards have had teams in the finals or win the finals at states for the U10/12/14 age groups. The U16/19 is a half season and far more concerned with college exposure.

Beyond that, the Wizards or Assabet having more than 1 or 2 teams is actually a good thing (one could argue). No, those teams aren’t competitive, but they give a bunch of girls a chance to play hockey. Charging them $4K may be highway robbery, but that’s up to the parents to make that call.

Re: Is it True Fusco rolls out 4 or 5 girls teams at each level?

Wizards are a joke. Worth the travel to the breakers to play with good girls.

CG wanted one more run at national relevance.and in the process violated player movement rules and got away with it. The best programs in the nation used to line up to play at his U12 National Invite. Now everyone is staying away.
Don’t get me wrong the girls are all great players but it is the parents who will give up any resemblance of integrity to chase a national championship.

When is the field for the U 14 Nat announced?

At large bids are announced tomorrow. The state/sectional winners already know, the remainder will know tomorrow. Would be not surprised if no additional Mass team gets an at large bid. I guess it is going to be Assabet’s year.

They are up to 12 flags on MHR, how does the 1 win team from Washington qualify, saw them play the Shamrocks at NESC a few months ago they are terrible, local at large teams far more deserving

So if MHR indicates that 12 of 16 invitations are locked and only 4 at large bids, Breakers need 3 of the 6 ahead of them in MHR to decline????

Re: Is it True Fusco rolls out 4 or 5 girls teams at each level?

Breakers got robbed!

Re: Is it True Fusco rolls out 4 or 5 girls teams at each level?

Breakers did not get robbed. It was a numbers game. Unfortunate for the Breakers, but once Madison Capitols won the central district over one of the Chicago teams the jig was up. Both Chicago teams, Team Wisconsin and the other Detroit team got at-large bids. All were top 10 in MHR and had higher or nearly equivalent SOS ratings. Everybody can gripe about Washington Pride being in the tournament but every district that wants in gets a slot. Washington Pride is the de facto winner of their district so they are in. Yes they only have 2 wins listed but they also played and won against a number U16 teams which are not calculated in the MHR list.

Saw them play , they would be a tier 2 bottom feeder in the NEGHL, a joke entry who is taking a spot from a more deserving team like the Breakers, the key is host or stink someplace else apparently

Re: Is it True Fusco rolls out 4 or 5 girls teams at each level?

This team from Washington got shutout by the Shamrocks a tier 2 team who just got outscored in the States 27-2 in three games.

They also paid the entry fee for the Stoney Creek event went 0-5 and was outscored 45-0

Don't care what U 16 benders they beat, not deserving to be at Nationals and maybe USA Hockey should address this and let the Breakers in.

Re: Is it True Fusco rolls out 4 or 5 girls teams at each level?

You can’t write the rules so it works best for the Breakers. That’s why they have at large bids. Each district winner gets a shot. Washington may not have a chance, but it’s a fair process. Else all of the teams would come from MN, Detroit, Chicago and NE. It would be easy to argue the second team from MA should be the Thunderbirds as they were the runner ups at States. That would be a far more fair process than picking the next best team based upon an arbitrary web ranking.

The Thunderbirds were runners up because the format said they got to play the National Host program in the semi finals where they needed OT to advance, avoiding the eventual beat down until the final.

Saying this is why they would deserve an at large bid over the Breakers is ridiculous based on a season long body of work,

Neither gets to go because a silly territory regulation that allows Washington to claim a bid.

The Vipers would be more deserving than the Thunderbirds as well,

Nice strategy move adjusting the base of operation to Springfield to compete in the MA States by this organization, they must have had a bad scouting report claiming Mid Fairfield was better than Assabet, Breakers etc

Re: Is it True Fusco rolls out 4 or 5 girls teams at each level?

Fusco bought a Prep School that his boys go to so they would play and this really surprised you?

I call fake news on Thunderbirds miscalculating. Falcons/Thunderbirds have always participated in Massachusetts District State Tournament. A border program that traditionally has been mostly Western Mass residents/Western Mass Prep School girls. Some teams including the 14 Tier 1 team have gradually become less Mass kids than CT kids but the Mass Hockey Girls District allowed them in as CT would not allow them to compete. The USA Hockey rule (which districts can waive) is that the majority of players on the team dictates what district they belong to - boarding school girls can count towards the state they go to school in OR the state they reside in. Example -if a team has 6 Mass Girls, 7 CT Girls and 2 RI girls with 1 CT Girl going to a Mass Boarding school they are a Mass team due to the Majority of girls qualifying as Mass players.

Could they have beaten Mid Fairfield for the bid and played in the National Tournament?

Re: Is it True Fusco rolls out 4 or 5 girls teams at each level?

Nonsense. If next year's team has more CT players than MA, they play in the CT States? Unlikely. Maybe now because their strategy failed but that's not how they ended up missing Nationals this year. They just thought they were better than they are. Just like the Breakers.

Re: Is it True Fusco rolls out 4 or 5 girls teams at each level?

SF is the queen of the Tier 2 ball. He has taken so high end players and lost to lesser teams in Tier 1. He continually fills the bottom of his Tier 1 rosters with long time players who should be sent back to Tier 2 and take better players from outside the program.
What could be if this Ivy educated guy actually had a functioning brain. Unfortunately he does not. CG and MM own SF when it counts.

not only that, the opposite is true. If your bender from outside the program didn't make tier 1, she must be really bad. New girls with Tier 1 expectations almost always make the team.

Re: Is it True Fusco rolls out 4 or 5 girls teams at each level?

Problem is that many U14 parents think that Tier 1 and Tier 2 means something. Smart programs, that care about player development and less about banners, treat it like boys hockey. Tier 1 should be U14 half season with high school players. Tier 2 should be U14 full season with middle schoolers. Full season boys and girls at U14 allow for real practice time and skill development because your teammates aren’t leaving when the high school season begins or when they have Fall varsity sport commitments. If your player is good enough they will get plenty of visibility from prep schools and colleges at either Tier 1 or Tier 2.

Finally anyone that actually knows the Sorcerer or is a long time dboard reader knows that there is no speaking ill of the Wizards ever!
