Re: Da Wiz at -100 Goal differential

They only care about the girls program, the boys is nothing but a moneymaker for them. It's pathetic
Correct.

The only way you will stop this crap from going on is by not writing checks to organizations like this to keep them afloat. Sure the girls program does well. Doesn't mean their boys program is good too. If they don't have money coming in for the boys program, then they will eventually have to get rid of it. End of story.

Don't go to tryouts and don't give them money. That's the best way to end the madness. Look elsewhere and do your homework.

Let's say, unlike the EHF where every team is Elite for Life. Every year in every league you have some really weak teams. There is no such thing as elite youth hockey in northern new england any longer.

Looking at the standings, I'm guessing you are getting worked up about their 2010 team, so 8 year old kids. Which also leads me to believe you haven't been through this before.

Here's some advice for newbies:
Relax, they are 8

Relax, it's youth hockey

If you are a parent of a player on the team, relax the season is young, lots of time for growth and development.

If you are a parent of a player on the team, relax there are plenty of teams in the area to choose from if you feel the need to change next season.

If you are a parent of a player on another team, relax the season is young. Look at it as a chance for your player and his team to work on some skills against players instead of cones.

If you are a parent on a team that didn't make the E9 and you believe are far superior to the Bedford clan, relax hopefully your team will develop enough to make a better run at it next year or tryout for a team with an autobid.

Relax, they are 8

Relax, it's youth hockey

^^Frankie goes to Hollywood over here. You're too relaxed bud.

new league.. all clubs play parity for top 10 spots for the season...Regardless of league, regardless of fake title (elite, AAA, T1, etc). Best 10 at each age group play a 30 game schedule plus playoffs. Then repeat for the next top 10...

Not hard.

Maybe I'm too relaxed or maybe I'm the guy with four kids and has been through it all already.

I've been the guy obsessing over which team he NEEDS to play for, which summer tournaments he MUST attend, how to maneuver to a likely Q team, MHR rankings and player exposure.

Maybe I'm the guy who has seen the journey to completion for one player and came to the realization that almost everything I got wrapped up in had nothing to do with where he ended up. Maybe I'm the guy who watched his all-star defenseman get schooled by Eichel, Garland, Donato at 12, watched Hannifin do the same to my boy in Prep and realized what a real mobile defenseman looked like and no matter what I did my kid wasn't going to be in the same stratosphere as any of them. Maybe I'm the guy who had an epiphany that this is all just youth hockey and of the 7,000 kids that played Bantam hockey in Massachusetts, less than 50 were going on the play D-I college which led to the ability to just enjoy the ride.

Each of my other three has had a uniquely different experience as I've grown as a parent and my oldest, now graduated from college has told my peewee player how much better he has it, not exactly words I wanted to hear but I understood where they came from.

So yea, I'm relaxed because unlike you I no longer obsess over things that make no difference in their development.

Re: Da Wiz at -100 Goal differential

I’m sorry that you’re so new to hockey that you don’t know how good the 03, 00, and 96 wiz were. Great teams with many many prep school and college players.
