I did not know the rules about not using kids names. Will try this again. Top 2 teams are Eagles and MFF, teams 3 + 4 are Flames and Kings. Teams 5-11 just not as deep as top 4.. some teams improved which are Bandits, PHC, Top Gun and Terriers. Terriers picked up a good goalie and so far has been a big improvement. Teams that are hurting are Huskies and Breakers. What is going on with Huskies... They lost a very good player, was he that much help to the team? Then you have Breakers getting crushed. What happened to that team? Did they lose players last year? What happened to good goalie they had few years.ago? Interesting year so far. I think this is what it will look like at end of year for standings.. dont think it's too far off, if at all. Last playoff spot will be between teams 5-9. Dont think bottom 2 will be close to compete for one.
8. Top Gun
This is pretty accurate with the top 4 but the Flames have fallen off and the Kings aren't really there yet. Huskies relied too much the last few years on 1-2 top kids and with one gone yes they will struggle for a few months until they figure it out. Terriers definitely doing better keeping teams from lighting up the scoreboard like a pinball machine. TG and Breakers tough to figure out.
Islanders tough to figure out too. They lose to the Breakers and Top Gun and tie the Flames. Still think they are better than 9th.
1. MFF - cream of the crop.
2. Eagles - a close 2nd.
3. Flames - fell off a bit, but always seem to find a way to be there in the end.
4. Kings - they have talent, but don't always play to their full potential.
5. Bandits - much improved, will give most teams in the league a tough game week in and week out.
6. Top Gun - like bandits, always a tough game, just don't have the firepower to put them over the top.
7. Islanders - see 'Top Gun'.
8. Terriers - slight improvement and better coaching, but they don't have the horses.
9. PHC - just not a good team. without the goalie they're #11.
10. Huskies - still have some talent without the kid who moved to MFF, but they're just a mess.
11. Breakers - coach is a goon, kids seem to learn that from him. not sure if they're trying to win games or just getting ready
for hitting in a few years.
you guys are such losers lol
Thanks Eagles dad. How was Edmonton?
Talk about beating a dead horse! Everyone knows it’s going to be Rangers, Eagles, flames, and Kings. Give it a rest already. Rangers are stacked, eagles Have kids from all over the country, flames and kings are behind but are very well coached
The eagles do not have any kids from out of state. Nice try!
2 kids from finland
Always find it funny when parents complain about teams having kids from "X,Y,Z"... As long as they are the same birth year, who cares. Isn't the point of being on an "Elite" team to play against the "Best"? Who cares if another team "stacks" their roster? If your kid's team gets blown out, then you know where you stand in the spectrum of 10 year old hockey. Not to mention, I would love it if my kid had the opportunity to go play for a youth team in Finland, Sweden, Germany, etc... and it was feasible for us to do it. Then all the natives could complain about how that team has kids from the US! Ha!
This board is funny - and the below is far away from reality to what coaches are teaching and the parents talking in the stands. AO is a tad busy with a little more important role at the moment then worrying about 10 year old, doesn't matter how stacked the '08s are this year!, plus he's on the ice with the team once a week. Bottom line is that a bunch of 10 year olds are not playing great right now; big deal. Most parents are fine and happy and take the long view in develpoment, I'm one of them, and from the stands the coaches are doing what they should be. Watered down talent issue + kids not playing great equals tough start. 6 Games in, life goes on and the kids will keep working. You guys are entertaining though, that I'll give ya.
What does safe even mean in 10 year old hockey in this context? I don't want an internet argument. A coaching change isn't always a bad thing, and if the new coach doesn't like my little johnny bender, then so be it, and my bender will play wherever. My initial point was right now, the on-ice teaching and practices are well run, and the kids are improving if they put the effort in; just like anything else. The wins/loses are tough, but again, so what- they are 10. No need to argue, just coming from a birds eye view.
Ownership could care less! Teams are full and he has his money. There are only a couple kids on that team that could make another elite team.. If you kid is one of the better kids it probably a good idea to get in another elite team that has some more promise like Bandits or Terriers if they have a spot open. Development long term is not happening there. Look at Breakers history. Every Elite team is terrible. Program was a good one at one point. They stopped caring and recruiting good players a long time ago. If you dont mind losing and know that team will not get better then stay and get your ass handed to you every week. Good luck this weekend... looking at 2 blowouts and 3 losses. Blowouts are not good for kids!
How is being on a team like that good for development? Only person it benefits is the goalie seeing 75 shots a game. Getting beat up every week will take the fun out of the game and is not good for any kids confidence on your team. Future does not look bright there and likely kids will scatter next year. The ones who stay will go through this again... If you really truly believe your son benefits from "long term development" there, stay and spend another $4000 to get killed... I doubt you will
Watered down talent issue... at this point it's unlikely Breakers will have a good or competitive going forward. Talented kids are pretty much settled in on teams they are on. Movement year to year is getting less and less as they get older. My 2 cents
They lost the very good goalie they had because MB did not want to work with kid skating out and playing goalie. That guy is not too bright and screwed that up pretty good. At 8 years old if a kid can do both, let them
IHC is the best team to never win a game against the top teams and can’t find a way to beat the lower teams. Their defense looked less than average and forwards back and forchecked but didn’t know how to bury them. Alternate from seacoast was non existent on ice. Glad he stayed at other NH team based on that performance.
Actually, he was one of their best players vs TG. That kid can play
Their defense was using two alternates as they were missing one or two kids on d. still wouldn’t have mattered though.
Fake news. They have all but TG games rolling two forwards and not using an alternate. This game had three alternates.
How'd everyone do this weekend? Surprises? Results were as expected? Upsets?
Well the kings reign as the new king in town has come to an abrupt halt! Bunch of big mouth parents who think there kids were actually better than they are are sitting pretty at 4-4 in league play and 9-7 overall. Looks a lot like .500 to me. Keep it up! Hope you get those defensive problems under control.
Top Gun looks strong....very surprised.
3-10 A giant pot of hockey gumbo
Will be a long tough season but fun. The teams aside for 1 and 2 are fairly evenly matched.
Tough to make sense of 3 thru 10. One day up, another day down.
Wow, they’re only 10? Didn’t know that. Thanks.
Breakers 50 plus goals against definitely gets them to 10th place and out of the cellar. Thanks daddy
Breakers are in the cellar, Islanders won a game this weekend
Sorry your kid got cut so you cant get updates. Keep trolling
Surprises.. Top Gun beating Kings and Providence, Huskies beating Bandits
Not Surprised. Breakers 3 more losses. Games were not even close. Looks like a very long season ahead of them. Be lucky to win 5 games this year
