****TRUE TIER ONE**** EHF Elite, E9
1. (-) Islanders 35-6-5 Streak: W10
The streak is up to 10 with no sight of ending. The Isles dispatched a revived Top Gun team 7-3 this past weekend. On Deck: a three game weekend. Two versus Jr Huskies and one Versus Terriers. Hopefully PETA doesn't get their panties in a bunch if/when the Isles maul these doggies this weekend.
2. (-) Boston Advantage 32-7-0 Streak: W5
BA went about their business and shut out the Lovell Knights 5-0 to remain undefeated in E9 league play. They'll need to win big versus Rifles and Wizards to stay ahead of the Eagles in the poll.
2. (+1) Boston Jr. Eagles 41-11-3 Streak: W5
A three win weekend and a +17 goal differential pull the Eagles back into a tie with BA. The Eagles look to take two more this weekend versus MMFs and Jr Terriers respectively.
4. (-1) Minuteman Flames 19-9-5 Streak: L1
A defensive no show at the hands of the Eagles, they took a 9-3 loss on the chin. How many more time is this group going to go on a mini run only to be put in there place by the EHF's top 2? We believe they can do it, the question is; Do they believe?
5. (-) South Shore Kings 18-14-2 Streak: L1
Their loss to the Breakers knots up the season series to 1-1-1. Their season is quickly turning into a win some- lose some see saw of a year. They have two winnable games on deck before they have to step up to once again fight the bullies. Handle your business Kings.
6. (+2) Mid-Fairfield Rangers 24-20-8 Streak: W7
The Rangers find themselves in the midst of a late season run as they gear up for the playoffs. This weekend they took two from the Jr Huskies (8-1, 4-1) and defeated the NJ Rockets 6-4. Are they perhaps in prime position to finally make a jump into the top 5?
7. (-) Assabet Valley Patriots 23-16-1 Streak: W6
Two more league wins has them winning eight of their last nine games. It's a good time for the Pats to make a run, as they enter the JWK as the odds-on favorites to win it all this weekend.
8. (+1) Bay State Breakers 15-13-3 Streak: W2
The Breakers defeated SSK 4-2 and Terriers 3-1, to start what they hope is a new win streak. The next three tilts are all winnable games (BJT, Bandits, and Jr Huskies) before they have to step up to the plate and face BJE again. If they can go into the Eagles game on a five game winning streak, they may have enough Mojo to pull-off an upset when they finally tango on Feb. 3.
9. (-3) Top Gun 23-14-4 Streak: L1
Top Gun hits a bump in the road with a 1 point weekend. The 3-3 tie to the Terriers has to be viewed as a mild disappointment. This team is trying mightily to keep itself amongst the Fed Elite big boys. Beating the top 5 or so in the league is tough enough, so much so, that they need to handle their business against struggling teams like the Terriers. Opportunities cannot be wasted.
10. (-) Seacoast Spartans 27-7-7 Streak: W2
The Spartans handled their league-mates rather easily (Knights 5-0, Rifles 3-1) to hang on to the 10 spot for another week. Does anyone know what tourney they're headed to this MLK weekend?
Boston Jr Terriers 9-24-1
Valley Jr Warriors 27-22-4
Worcester Jr Railers 23-12-1
Providence HC 7-23-5
Connecticut Condors 21-10-6
Connecticut Jr Huskies 15-26-2
****TRUE TIER TWO**** AKA T1B/W, BHL A/N, PHL, etc
1. (+1) Islanders 34-15-3 Streak: W1
The Islanders drove to Marlborough and shut-out the MM Flames 4-0. Strong win for the Isles as they get closer to clinching the T1B regular season title and auto-bid into black next season. With that said, the remaining games look tough as they still have the Vipers, North Stars and Eagles on their schedule. Therefore, clinching a top two bid isn't a certainty, and it looks like they'll certainly have to beat some good teams to earn it.
2. (-1) Boston Jr Eagles 25-10-2 Streak: L1
The Eagles look like they laid an egg versus Manchester. Dropping their road game 6-2- allowed the Isles to capitalize and once more leapfrog the Eagles in our poll. The Eagles are left looking up at the Andover team in the EHF standings, MHRankings, and our poll. The good news is they have an excellent opportunity at a statement win against a hot Vipers team. In the coming weeks they will try to simultaneously catch the Islanders, while holding-off the North Stars and Vipers for an auto bid.
3. (+1) Middlesex Icemen 28-9-4 Streak: W2
The Icemen capped off a two win weekend with a big 4-2 win over the surging Boston Americans who were hot on their tails. The win gives the East Bostonians a 4 point cushion in league play and gets them out of the post JJR rut they were in.
4. (+5) Greater Boston Vipers 16-11-5 Streak: W5
The Vipers leap five spots primarily on the backs of the Northstars who they swept (4-3, 6-1) taking the season series 2-1-1. The Vipers stretch their winning streak to
5 games- but now have to contend with having league leaders Jr. Eagles and IHC next on the docket. We will learn very shortly if the Vipers have played themselves back into regular season title contention.
5. (-2) Northstars 20-6-5 Streak: L2
Although it was a disappointing weekend for the stars, dropping two games to league rivals GB Vipers. We think it's likely a mere speed bump on the road to earning an auto bid. The defending champs can get right back on the saddle once league play resumes, but first they have some JWK business to take care of. Why are you guys in the AAA division and not the Elite Division? Your manager needs to send a strongly worded email to legacy.
6. (+1) Yale Bulldogs 26-5-1 Streak: W3
The JWK is finally here. Let's see how the New Haven Bulldogs stack -up this weekend. It'll go a long way in determining their future in the poll. We'll be watching.
7. (-1) North Shore Shamrocks 28-4-1 W16
The Shams keep humming along- making a mockery of their plight in Tier 1 White. The streak is now up to 16 games, and they will probably tack on three more wins to that streak, before getting tested by IHC-E T1W on 1/27 and IHC-W T1W on 2/20.
8. (new) Hanover Wild 21-4-0 Streak: W6
New team on the radar (thanks Hanover Dad). Although the Wild sport a gaudy win total, when examined further, they are a mere 2-4 against our poll's Top 10. (1-1 vs VT Dynamo, and 1-3 vs Yale Bulldogs) We'll debut them at 7 with the Dynamo seeing as they've split H2H games. They're playing in the JWK this weekend, so that's great, though it would've been to their benefit if they were grouped in the Elite bracket of the tourney, as opposed to the AAA bracket.
8. (-2) Vermont Dynamo 28-11-2 Streak: L4
It looks like the Dynamo have stepped-up their level of competition, which is great. They however, have to be better about competing at that level. In order to reap the rewards of taking the risk they have to win, or lose competitively. Merely playing better teams isn't enough. They've been shut-out in 4 of their last 6 games, managing to score a mere four goals in those six contests. You can step-up to the plate, but once you do, you have to get some hits.
10. Boston Americans 19-11-5 Streak: L1
The 06 Americans are trying to be the BHL's version of the NHL's Las Vegas Knights. A first year team who defies all the odds to show year one doesn't have to be a building year. The Hockeytown tenants have been scrappy, playing themselves into striking distance of league leaders- Middlesex Icemen. They unfortunately fell 4-2, but it wasn't the type of loss they should beat themselves over. If the results are to be believed, then the American cannot wait to get another crack at the Icemen. There seems to be a real chance that next time, the Americans can skate away the victors.
Assabet Valley Patriots 16-4-8
Casco Bay Mariners 10-3
Boston Advantage 15-7-6
Manchester Flames 15-13-2
Islanders West 21-7-1
Hanover will find out that you can't call yourself Elite and lose to AAA teams. This weekend it will all shake out. #JWK
Four true tier 2 teams in elite bracket of JKW and they play three off then. Really?
Hanover's ranking was inflated last week due to the improper reporting of an opponent. Big difference between Jr.Railers AAA and Jr.Crusaders AA therefore they dropped 17 spots in MYR. They play the #24,30,34 and 81 ranked teams in tier 2. I guess we'll see what kind of team they are this weekend.
Improper reporting? Do tell...
Not breakers parent but their goalie is easily the best in the league. Not even close
Not truth, good against crappy teams, average against top end teams. Just saying...
I have to say I agree with you. At the Triple Crown against top teams last Summer, kid got lit up. Had a sunburn on his neck from the goal light going off so frequently.
06 goalie dads sound jealous! Imagine someone posted something positive about a 12 year old on here!
Not a goalie parent at all. My kid was a forward on that blue chip new england team. Just stating the facts pal
Wow blue chips, he sounds awesome
Seacost is at the Nations Cup in Ann Arbour
Sparty 0 for 3.. USA looks like they prepared for Nations Cup at Ann Taylor not Ann Arbour. Stupid money grab.
Thanks Ron, your turn will come at the Q. We are actually 0-4 making Canada great again.
Hanover doing well in Kennedy Memorial..next up Northstar and Minutemen flames. Strong tier 2 team doing well in a tier 2 bracket. #makesSense
They should've played in the elite division.
See you don't have to really be stable.. You just have to tell the staff you are. Well done and try to stay out of the padded room.
Blue Chips New England? - c'mon pal, give it rest. Blue Chips is the thing for mites.
