OK, so is it true that the 06 Wizards could be saved by a block of fleeting Islanders black players coming over to the program? Seems like a fantasy at best.... why? :sweat_smile:

I hope it happens. It's good for everyone - e9 league, Islanders players stuck in Black division. It will also make current ECW elite players to move on, finally.

only way this happens is if the wiz fire the coach, but that's not happening, status quo over in Bedford, it's all about the girls, I would consider taking my 06 to the wiz, but the coach has got to go

wizards boys program is a subsidy for girls. they dont care about the boys. boys dont come to wizards...boys players leave. every. single. year.

Yeah, this move would make sense since it puts those black players that may otherwise be stuck at that level considering the strength of the Islanders program into the E9. Why is it always about the coach with the Wizards boys and not the simple fact that they just don't get any talent at tryouts. This would be a BLESSING for the Wiz but I DOUBT it would ever happen.

Because at the 06 level ECW went from a mediocre coach, to a god awful coach.

No dog in the fight, but what’s the point of stepping up in competition if you’re taking a step back in coaching? ECW’s coaching staff has a terrible reputation at the 06 birth year.. Besides, IHC black lost to Assabet, Lovell, and Avs by 1 goal. Lost to Warriors by 2 goals. Doesn’t seem to me like it’s a huge step-up in competition.

If the Islanders coaches were to go to ECW I would have my kid at tryouts in a heartbeat. From what I've heard and seen playing against them they are excellent.

Got an idea, have your kid tryout for the Islanders.

Try out for the patriots then if your kid is that good or junior warriors all good coaches. Do those work logisticly. Don’t be insecure if your kid is that good, aim higher.

Are you geographically challenged? If Merrimack doesn't work why would Haverhill? That's even farther away. And if you think the Warriors have a stable coaching situation I can understand why you can't read a map. Jeez.

based on that head to head competition, bringing all the black players to ECW would be a marginal improvement, right? The Knights, AVS, and Wiz are at the bottom of the order in the E9. The black team may be a 5th place team at best in the E9.

If the Islanders Black team want better competition they should tryout for the better teams individually.

Yes they are 0-5 vs. E9, however 3 were in August at Warrior classic. Played 2nd place Assabet very tough 2-1 and laid an egg against Avs 3-2. Only Seacoast blew them out 4-0. They would be middle of the oack E9 opposed to a 1 win ECW team. It would be better for the league as a whole.

Latest is door has officially closed on this possibility.... the Wiz will suck yet again

Yup. Look at the standings. Strong at elite and T1B levels.

If the Wizards had a history of developing players, then I'd recommend making the move. But to go to Wiz/E9 simply to play better competition and watch your kid and his buddies get their teeth kicked in week in and week out?

There has to be some D-I pipeline type of development going on to make that move worthwhile.

You're obviously unaware because your bender is a girl. Wiz develop the ladies just fine, they tell you as much with the 5,000 girls banners hanging in the rafters. The boys? not so much buddy. Night and Day even.

Wiz have beaten Avalanche and Avalanche have beaten Islanders (early in the season, but all teams have improved especially the Patriots), judging from the scores the Wiz are somewhat competitive outside of the Advantage. Doubt if the whole Islanders team would come over and even if the coach does come they would most likely take the best Islander players only, would need to take some of the better Wiz kids and add 4-5 others to be truly competitive in the E9. This looks like everything needs to fall in line perfectly which is never the case as you look at organizations self interests vs Coaches and Players and Families. Given this is the last year of youth hockey for most of the 2006's it does not make sense for it to happen and it looks like other comments on this string indicate that it won't.
