Brick Team Roster

Any reason why BJB hasn’t released the Brick roster yet?

Re: Brick Team Roster

When were tryouts?

I already received email notification. Sorry your kid was cut.

Re: Brick Team Roster

Why? So we can insult 8 year olds now?? Yeah, Let’s finish bashing 12 year olds and move onto 8 year olds... that’s what you do on the dboards right?

You need to pay another fee to see if your bender made it.

Re: Brick Team Roster

First thing you have to know about CM. First 5-7 spots are the best kids. The next 6-8 spots go to the highest bidder. If you got $10k - your kid is on the team. Just give him a call, have your bank routing number ready!

CM and his brother like to take it to the bank. Them and the rest of the staff certainly have no issues hiding it either. Take a look at their FB pages and see what great golf vacations they take.

Re: Brick Team Roster

Been this way with them for years. #allaboutthemoney ..... and you idiots will keep paying

Re: Brick Team Roster

The roster wont be released until the MMF tryouts are complete. That way the mmf families wont jump ship ,clinging to the hopes that their child's coach will pick them for the brick. The same carrot that has been dangled to MMf people for years. JRB will mop up all the in house marlboro money has to offer and almost no MMF kids will crack that team. Doesn't not speak well to development down there, The JRB Premier coach is your mmf squirt minor coach and he cant produce any kids for his Brick Team, They are probably dangling brick spots to kids from other teams to recruit them to MMF.

Why do you say so? This is how things have run at MMF since the JB's moved into the building. Constant jockeying of JB coaches throughout the MMF teams yet none of the teams can produce anything of value for the JB's teams. But even you and your bender would be upset if you had a JB coach as your MMF coach in hopes of making a JB's team.

I would not be surprised at all if they are using the Brick as a recruiting tool. Something needs to change with that MMF's team. They have gone from league finals to barely making playoffs in two years with little to no change over of players. All that have left or were cut were bottom half kids. But notice that once those kids are gone they can't win the same way? So either there is zero time put in by coaching staff to develop the players or the replacements that have been brought in are weaker than what they replaced. Either way, they are getting lapped by the other teams in that league.

Re: Brick Team Roster

On the same hand you would be complaining if there were 5 MMF kids on the brick team saying they only pick their own kids. Either way people complain. I think it is good the team may have various players from a bunch of different teams. When picking players for these teams everyone has different perspectives of what qualities and abilities they think makes a player great. However, there certainly are no players that “stink” on any of the teams. These are all hard working kids who dedicate themselves to the sport. Anyone that say otherwise is crazy or bitter. Nuff said!

To clarify, this post is not about the kids. It's about the process of how the team is picked and the control exerted by the JB's organization and how JB's coaches can't develop their own players but still hold themselves and their product in such high regard.

Of course the best teams are made up kids from around New England and the roster is loaded with studs, The point the earlier poster is making ( maybe little over stated regarding EHF tryout timing ) is that MMF and JB are marketed together throughout the org. Savvy and experienced hockey parents know to play their kid in the program that suits them best (and maybe it is MMF for some) and if your kid is a stud Teams like JB will find you. CM isn't turning down studs who played SSK instead of MMF, Cream rises to the top

Actually you're the one missing the point of the earlier poster. The point of the post was to say that the roster hasn't been released because the majority of that MMF's team tried out for the Brick team. They have had a dumpster fire of a season, worst since the JB's Premier coach took over 3 years ago. It's the JB's that are not releasing the roster till tryouts are done so that:

1. They don't lose the existing players that tried out (a number have already been seen skating with other clubs)
2. Knowing they will likely be losing a bunch of existing players, they are using the Brick spots as a bait and switch tool to fill the spots they know will likely be open for the MMF's next year.

The JB's are really focused on controlling things, this is just another example of how they do it.

And on a final note, there are no studs on the 09 SSK's teams.

The entire concept of a showcase hockey tournament for 9-year olds is dumb - and yet - look at this thread and the parents lined up to cut checks. It's an incredible business.
