BA 2002
ROFL ....... That team spent all their time ducking and hiding the competition.

Not even close 2001 flames...they won 150 plus games straight and 80 to 90 percent committed at age 14 and 15 to hockey east schools.
01 Flames were a youth hockey dynasty for sure. Does anyone know where they all ended up?

Re: Greatest Youth Teams in New England Hockey History

All at prep schools, ushl and most heading to hockey east on full boats....

Re: Greatest Youth Teams in New England Hockey History

It's probably an anomaly, but not as much an anomaly as we might think. This caliber of kid is still playing hockey in NE, they are just not concentrated on a small number of teams.

Re: Greatest Youth Teams in New England Hockey History

At some points they are, like the Cape Cod Whalers.

Re: Greatest Youth Teams in New England Hockey History

Any names from that team? Scott Balboni? Moi?

Re: Greatest Youth Teams in New England Hockey History

Hard to beat Mount St Charles. It produced many NHL players

Over 20 NHL drafts .

Or are you talking one year/one team?

70s and 80s hockey was way better. But we did not have the internet and giant sports complexes. We had disgusting snack bar or vending machine coffee and old, cold MDC rinks.

And if you really want to go back, people that saw Robbie Ftorek play will say he was the best high school hockey player ever. Could only imagine what he was like as a peewee.

Good post though. Like seeing all these MA kids go far.

They also can get on the TG alumni list. Haha

Re: Greatest Youth Teams in New England Hockey History

Shattenkirk, Jonathan Quick, and Max Pacioretty all played on the same mid Fairfield team, tough to beat that

Re: Greatest Youth Teams in New England Hockey History

In 5-6 years Eichel, Donato, Hannifin will certainly give them a run for it.

All three are a different age so no they didn't play together, and all 3 only briefly played for MFF. We're talking about hockey dynasty teams that dominated for seasons.
