Me too. Last Thursday and this morning.
I didn’t hear any reason for the pessimism. Everyone was pretty positive, this is a workable solution.
What we need to do Is start to call out offenders. See someone with no mask? Tell them you’d appreciate their showing a little more concern for the safety of others. We have no trouble telling them to shut their yaps about the officiating.
I think talking to our kids about wearing the masks in the locker rooms and during warm ups or in between ice time is necessary too. From what I’ve seen they tend to get lax about it when they are with their friends .
I think you telling other adults what to do is a greater health risk to you than a virus will ever be. Don't be the mask police. Mind your own business. Go home with all of your teeth.
I tell my kids that masks don’t do a god **** thing
Can we make this a Men only board? The dog brains are commenting a little too much.
Of course it helps.
The mask helps to prevent an infected young player (*who is showing no symptoms*) from coughing, sneezing, spitting, or simply expelling droplets (talking/shouting) near other people and infecting them, thus spreading the virus.
I agree that it does little to protect the person wearing the mask.
Risk? More risk driving to the rink. Two week report 7/26-8/8 of MA death rate by age group... average age 86. https://www.bostonherald.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/WEEKLY-covid-19-dashboard-8-12-2020.pdf
99.97% of the population won't be affected by Covid. Fact.
