According to the news Haverhill has shut down all youth sports for the next 3 weeks.
Will this mandate include private enterprises like the Valley Warriors and their ability to host games at the Valley Forum or just the town youth sports?
Doesn’t affect the VJW. Towns have no jurisdiction over private enterprises. BOH could shutter the rink if they have cause but can’t stop teams from operating. And PG wouldn’t take that lying down.
I said this way back at the start. Town hockey is at far greater risk of shut-down than Club. Too many bureaucrats answering to other bureaucrats.
The ruling affects sports involving Haverhill High School, other schools and private youth organizations.
Received notice today that Valley Forum rinks will remain open for games, but ALL spectators will be barred for games above Mites age level,
Veteran's Memorial Ice Rink behind the high school and the Haverhill Valley Forum rink are allowed to remain open, though youth sports programs such as ice hockey that account for much of the activity at the rinks must halt for the next three weeks due to the Board of Health order, officials said.
From Eagle Tribune.....not that they are the end all of accurate info
This applies only to town programs, for now.
More ice time for the clubs?
