At what age are kids expected to pass the puck at tryouts? I watched a tryout yesterday and my kid didn't pass one time. I asked him about it afterwards and he said "dad, it's a tryout, nobody passes."
Doesn't matter for him really because he already had a contract to return, but I am curious - at what age should a kid stop acting like a puck hog in tryouts?
My kid is a Bantam, big defenseman, and absolutely loved tryouts this year. All the forwards trying to impress coaches got put into the third row by my kid and every defenseman that isn't afraid of contact. Forwards that don't pass are like fish in a barrel...
u must be daddy of MMF 07 with long hair bouncing around from tryout to tryout
If you're 2011 or older and not passing thats a problem and not hockey. End to end skating is for mites and then it's over. Pug hogs look silly and turnovers hurt. My bender made great passes, active on the forecheck and backcheck. Coached called 20 mins after with the offer. Real hockey.
My bender is a puck moving squirt. Plays gold level and superior to most in league. Fun to watch. Kid will make a prep team for sure. U can tell who has it and doesn’t have it
