Well, it's inevitable, we are going to be on the 4th team. There will be no development but it still is better than town hockey. At least the jerseys are cool, the rinks are better and it costs more... I thought my kid was better than that but nope, we're not the "in" crowd so that's the deal. This will destroy my kid's future since nobody can catch his passes and no one even looks up to pass...
Here's the million dollar question: Do I accept this $3600 garbage team or keep doing some last minute tryout searching?
I hate March! This is the true March Madness :confounded:
Look for an alternate spot on a better team. Save the $, just won't be able to play in playoffs, but get the same practices and skills for half the cost.
What program has a 4th team? Play town and chase an alternate spot.
Terriers and Islanders
If your town program has a team in the top division the level of hockey will be about the same at half the cost. You’ll still most likely have a lack of development issue though. If the club program has decent skills suck it up and pay. Most town programs are useless to any kids past squirt level.
bender is on the 4th team and u guys are talking about development ! kid is a town player, it's only about having fun now, there ain't gonna b no development.
Flames have like 6 teams at each age group.
Let the kid have fun if he isn’t a top player. Don’t chase it. Play town sit back and chill. He obviously won’t play D1 so relax and let him have fun.
Town hockey is recreational hockey. Like playing pick-up basketball down at the local gym. Yeah it's fun but it isn't going to get you onto the varsity basketball team if you barely know the game or the rules.
Town Hockey and consistent private skating and skills lessons got my bender 2.5 years of Varsity hockey. High school coach didn't care he was never on a club hockey org.
