Here’s the math
150 skaters in the 2009 elite fed age group. Great age group, btw. Maybe the most competetive age group in the Fed.
Average 25 kids per year in New England end up playing Division I
Average 40 kids per year in New England end up playing Division II/III
Some kids from E9 will surpass Fed kids. Some kids who are good enough to play college will not be good enough in school and will opt for junior/minor league route.
So the math says there’s a small to decent chance. But don’t get caught up in it. It’s a long, long road. No reason to even think about college hockey until you see him pass puberty and take a check. At that point, you will see where he is within the local landscape. But the top level hockey division narrows at u14 and again at u16...so it’s not easy to keep up unless he is a legit prospect.
Start making connections now! How many kids from the Bandits have gone D1 in the last 10 years? Not many! Get in with a connected skating coach. If he’s that good, go play with the Jr Eagles. Progression will be, Eagles, Prep, USHL or BCHL, College at 20 or 21. Will cost a lot so be prepared.
This is the worst troll I have read in a long time. People obviously have a strong dislike for Bandits. Nobody over there is telling any parent their kid is going D1. If you read this OP and believe this you are obviously very simple. And to the OP come on get a life you suck and your kids probably suck
01 birth year was extraordinary. Also 00 to a lesser extent. That is not typical
So if my kid plays in the brick he’s going D1 so then I’m all set. Thank you for this very informative high sight
Thanks for pointing out the mistake little guy
D1 is overrated hockey, get your player to the CHL.
Great Choice on the Bandits!
SM from the river rats I mean sacred heart I mean river rats called and guaranteed I’d go d1 if I quit my current team and came over so have fun with your math nerds
The likelihood of your kid playing D1 is about the same as shooting a gun and hitting another moving bullet, while riding on a horse.
Thread is dead move on
Not sure how old your kid is but don't start worrying about that until he is 19/20, they want 21 year old studs who played away from home in the USHL, BCHL..your kid cant go to sleep without a hug from mom right now, enjoy that.
