Re: It’s always nice listening to parents talk about hockey at a baseball practice!

Just want to say thank you to the parents for keeping the focus on hockey at baseball practice! Not sure what we would do if we didn’t know your son was skating 5 days this coming week! Thank you for letting us know that you are traveling out state for that hockey tournament in a few weeks! If we didn’t know you were going out of state we would have suffered! And most of all, thanks for letting everyone know that baseball needs to come second to hockey. We never knew that hockey was so expensive!
This post is a great example of the underlying animosity towards kids and parents that enjoy hockey year round. Deny it all you want. You're bitter that your little slugger can't measure up to the neighbors kid at Baseball or Hockey. And it kills you inside knowing that this kid manages to continue improving in the offseason. Dad probably spends time with his kid playing catch in the yard when nobody is watching, or mixing in some BP as soon as hockey season ends. Be a better parent, and hold yourself and your spouse more accountable before you throw stones.

It's amusing that you believe this. Tell yourself all you want that your 12 year old wants to skate 12 months a year. There are no kids that want to do that. Zero. And any kid that does has parents that did a terrible job.

Baseball will be a real sport when they add a timed clock. You got 90 minutes to make this thing happen and its over. Glad my kids shooting hoops and riding his bike instead of standing in the outfield waiting for the coach to yell at his kid pitching and batting 3rd.

You must be that fat slightly obnoxious type of parent.

Re: It’s always nice listening to parents talk about hockey at a baseball practice!

Is there a worse sport than baseball? Is it even considered a sport? It takes zero athletic ability.

Re: It’s always nice listening to parents talk about hockey at a baseball practice!

Had a great day down in Marlboro today listening to all the parents talk about how little Johnny has been skating 4 to 5 times a week since the season ended. My kid hit two dingers last week and struck out 9 in 4 1/3 innings work then proceeded to step on the ice today not having skated once since the season ended and dominate all these benders skating 5 times a week. If your kids got it he’s got it you can skate him into the ground 12 months a year we all know who has it and who doesn’t. Might be time to look in the mirror parents and realize little Johnny ain’t going to the show.

Re: It’s always nice listening to parents talk about hockey at a baseball practice!

If your allowing your duster to skate 5 days a week and 12 months a year...congratulations your a genius! You foound a really expensive way to make your kid look forward to taking out the trash, mowing the lawn. Now sit down on your ample hind parts and have a celebratory Schlitz Malt Liquor with a couple Marlboro Heavies. You’ve earned it.

Re: It’s always nice listening to parents talk about hockey at a baseball practice!

Baseball is for non athletes and kids that can’t handle contact sports.

Re: It’s always nice listening to parents talk about hockey at a baseball practice!

Did you take too many hits to the head? Baseball is less athletic than hockey but requires way more skill, knowledge and understand of the game. Meatheads like you are why hockey parents get such a bad rep.

Re: It’s always nice listening to parents talk about hockey at a baseball practice!

Haha, you just proved my point. Sorry your kid can’t take a hit. Must be liberal parenting.

Re: It’s always nice listening to parents talk about hockey at a baseball practice!

Yes I’m starting to see the light, you should schedule more ice time if possible. Pay no attention to experienced coaches and mental health workers that encourage a defined off-season playing other sports and activities. They are not trying to develop a future HoFer and perennial all star 4 levels up. And worse case, if by some crazy coincidence you’re terribly wrong...it’s only more money and therapy/drug rehab as a young adult. What 12 year old wouldn’t look forward to that?

And there you go making a wonderful case for golf. Baseball sucks.

My kid wants to skate 365 days a year. Absolute fact and I refuse. He is taking April off and is ******* He would skate every day if asked.

Re: It’s always nice listening to parents talk about hockey at a baseball practice!

Golf is a hundred times better sport than baseball. Bunch of woke losers.

Re: It’s always nice listening to parents talk about hockey at a baseball practice!

Golf is a hobby at best.

Re: It’s always nice listening to parents talk about hockey at a baseball practice!

If your kids playing baseball and not soccer or lacrosse. He's probably better off not skating during spring or summer.

People are so biased about the sports their kids play. Just be happy your kids are healthy. Not all of us are as fortunate.

I get that baseball is far to cerebral for most kids today because video games have unlimited lives so why think when brute force trail and error is the expected development plan. Lax is the next best sport for kids that struggle to learn how to skate. Hey the already know how to walk, so how hard is it to teach them to simultaneously run and beat the opponent with a stick. Soccer is far too European so kids just learn how fail passively. Do they have soccer skill sessions to learn the most effective way to take a dive?
