New England Sports Village is currently involved in an ongoing legal process between the lender and ownership. The rink is separate from these proceedings. We are well funded and programming is growing in the rink. The rink will “NOT” be going to auction and the land is currently being negotiated to continue with the project moving forward.
We are looking forward to the future with all of our organizations, tenants, families and players. It has been a long 14 months for everyone but we made it through and the 2021-2022 season is well on it’s way!
See ya later rink
Ownership is just trying to suck everyone in for final payments for hitmen, Rapid Hockey and whatever else stupid they have going so he can get his money and screw everyone else out of it.
May 7 appears to be the big day. I hope the ownership can restructure but rarely do these deals end well for the patrons.
Rink was shut down for a max of 1 month during the season. April - June like most rinks took the ice out so they saved money.
Bottom line the rink killed itself instead of selling ice to other people looking to purchase it they kept it for private lessons that would have 1-2 skaters max.
Ownership isn’t helping the cause by ******* off tournament directors trying to sell spring/ summer ice for $300+ bucks. They can just go to Walpole and Foxboro for $200/250 an hour for the weekend.
To bad the ego of some people is interfering with the rink. He’s got one mission in the world and it’s to prove to his buddy down the street he was the brains at Rodman Arena.
It’s a really nice rink. Gotta be in the top 5 in Mass. Son played in in a few tournament there. Hope it works out.
The infrastructure of the facility has potential that its management needs to realize. The old saying is, it’s only worth what somebody is willing to pay. You may think the empty ice is worth 300 an hour but not if it’’s sitting idle.
There is more to this than ice. The rink was designed as part of a massive 100 acre sports complex that never happened. The revenue tmfrom the rink alone is not able to sustain the overall project. Without the soccer, lacrosse, pool, hotel, restaurant and other proposed afacilities this project is not financially feasible.
The revenue that this place brings in barely keeps the lights on not to mention payroll, maintenance, debt service, etc.
The ice time utilization needs to be close to 100% to make the numbers work and they're not close that.
They've been losing $ since the day they've opened.
The rink alone, without the other planned development is a losing proposition and never was planned to be that.
Someone can buy the asset on the cheap, but still will have close to an impossible task of running it in the black going forward.
